This is a beautiful day and one long to be remembered, as our daughter Sarah and her husband [page break] and their children arrived from their mission to Europe where Hugh presided over the Swiss-German mission for nearly three years.
Mother and I took train to Ogden where we met the folks and with them returned to Salt Lake. Many of my folks and Hughs folks met the train and after spending some time visiting we took the folks to our home where they will make their staying place until they are prepared to go by themselves.
One thing which somewhat marred the joy of home coming is the fact that Hugh’s mother died in California last Sunday, her remains came to Salt Lake to-day and her burial takes place to-morrow. Hugh & Sarah and children arrived at 2:35 and the corpse in charge of Preston Cannon arrived at 5:30 P.M. We met the train and took Hugh & Sarah there and back home after going up to the Irvine home where the casket was taken.
