The sun shone out bright in the early morning but it was a cold morning and continued so all day. Meeting 8:30 first day of change

I attended to my duties at the veil temple as usual. Attended my evening Circle meeting

Worked on my Combination Bk. making markings &c.

2 March 1922 • Thursday

Attended to temple duties as usual. Attended weekly Council meeting from 10 to 1:30 P.M. Received letter from Pres Grant authorizing us to make veil extension. Spent the evening at home marking my new combination Book. I took supper with my daughter Lucena and returning in the dark slipped & fell hurting my left shoulder.

3 March 1922 • Friday

I went to the temple to the 8:30 meeting as usual after which I took train for Marysvale thence by auto to Panguitch, Pres R. S. Wells accompanying a son of [blank] Hanks drove the auto [page break] We arrived at Marysvale at 7:35 P.M. and at Panguitch at 11:30 P.M. a long cold ride. We stayed at the home of Pres. Wm [blank] Henderson.

4 March 1922 • Saturday

Panguitch

At 10 A.M. session of conference the attendance was 332 or 12% of the stake population. I was one of the speakers and occupied about 40 m, subject, tithing, conscienceous living &c

Recited “Nobility”. In the Elder days of [illegible]. Lazarus &c.

Sat 2 P.M. 415 or 15% I occupied about 50 minutes, Subject, Marriage and Service. Good liberty.

5 March 1922 • Sunday

Panguitch.

Morning session in Opera House 530 or 19%. Many children. I recited the Decalogue and commented on the 5th, “Honor thy father & thy mother”. Had good liberty. Recited, “Which shall it be?” and “A Mother to Her Son.”

2 P.M.

I was the last speaker and occupied 1 hr. 20 min. with good liberty. Subject, A record of our actions, words and thoughts may be kept and no doubt are to be produced by will of the Lord. How will we then escape judgment? How we may erase what of our follies is on the screen, Repentance. Two powers. Choose ye this day whom ye serve, &c. Good attention. Good freedom. 564 or 21% of stake population present.

After meeting leaving Panguitch at 4:40 we drove in same car [page break] 55 miles to Marysvale and had to replace two tires enroute. Very cold, We stayed at Pine Hotel. I was mouth in blessing a sister Church and a Sister Dalley at the meeting place.

6 March 1922 • Monday

Snowing.

We took train at Marysvale at 8:30 A.M. On the train I met Sister Eckersley from Loa and her son George T. the latter being on his way to Salt Lake for an operation for removal of the appendix. I blessed him and assisted her in getting him off the train &c. I have lost my small memorandum book since Conference. Wrote hotel proprietor & Pres. Henderson about it.

On my return I found Mother poorly. Others well. I spent the evening at home and retired early.

7 March 1922 • Tuesday

I attended to my duties at the temple as usual. Assisted in setting apart a company of missionaries. Paid $250.00 on a $300.00 obligation at the bank. Worked on my books at home in the evening. Charles Murrey and I administered to Mother in the evening the first time he had ever officiated. He anointed her I administered to her also in the morning.

8 March 1922 • Wednesday

I attended to my temple duties. Administered to Geo. T. Eckersley at the L.D.S. Hospital. Attended two business Board meetings. [page break]

Wm Burton phoned and asked me if I would accept the presidency of the Utah, Vehicle & Implement Co. He said he had conferred with the principal stock holders, the Eckles & Browning Bros and they would like it so. I am considering the proposition. Attended my Circle meeting and spoke in a Genealogical Meeting in the 11th ward in the evening. Preparation for temple work

The weather has continued cold to date. Administered to Alice before retiring.

9 March 1922 • Thursday

Attended weekly council meeting from 10 to 1 P.M. Attended 8:30 Temple meeting and attended to the sealing of the living. Administered to my wife in the morning. This being the 40th anniversary of our marriage and Mother sick in bed. I went home early in the afternoon. I worked on my books.

10 March 1922 • Friday

I attended to my duties at the temple as usual.

Sister Richards still confined to her bed and suffering from her vaccination & cold.

11 March 1922 • Saturday

Last night was a cold stormy night. I remained home with my wife and did what I could to make her comfortable. I worked on my books. Finished marking my new Combination B of M., D. & C. and [page break] P. of G.P. from the old. The latter which I have used for 15 years and which is in splendid condition I have given to my son Ray.

12 March 1922 • Sunday

Having no appointment for this day I remained home with my sick wife. Between times I studied my commentary. Much snow & cold.

13 March 1922 • Monday

I attended to important business at the temple. Had the builder & the Upholster in conversation & consultation about the new veils and we are preparing to install. Wrote several letters &c &c. This day my memorandum book which I lost at the Pine Hotel, Marysvale was returned.

Worked at my desk until after 6 P.M. at temple and continued my work at home until nearly 11 P.M.

I am going over my Commentary, correcting & revising it for re writing in larger form.

14 March 1922 • Tuesday

Sister R. is improving. She sat up some to-day.

Weather somewhat moderating.

I went to the temple as usual. Spent the day at the temple until after 6 P.M. and took my Commentary book home and worked on them until bed time.

Lucena’s children and Ediths Pattie have whooping cough. [page break]

15 March 1922 • Wednesday

I attended to my duties at the temple as usual. Attended the Y.M.M.I.A. Gen. Bd. meeting and my Circle meeting.

16 March 1922 • Thursday

Attended the 8:30 A.M. meeting at the temple as usual and attended the regular weekly meeting of the Presidency, the Twelve & Patriarch in the Temple at 10 A.M. I worked on my books at home in the evening.

17 March 1922 • Friday

Alice still very weak.

Attended and presided as usual at the 8:30 temple meeting and attended to other temple duties during the day.

I took 10:30 P.M. train for Montpelier, L. E. Young accompanying.

18 March 1922 • Saturday

Arrived in Montpelier at 8 A.M. We were met at Station by Pres. Rich and taken to his home where we made our stay during conference.

At 10 A.M. conference meeting I occupied 40 min. on Subject of tithing.

In the afternoon I spoke upon the subject of Sacrifice, the higher law, course of life Read from Levt. 6.1–8.

In the evening I attended a benefit concert. Later administered Sister Lindsay and to an infant [page break]

19 March 1922 • Sunday

Montpelier, Ida.

Mild weather Sleighing.

I occupied 35 min. Recited the Decalogue and commented upon the 9th Com. 2 P.M. 35 min on “Two Powers and Thy will be done.[”]

When I got to the Ry Station at 3 P.M. I found a telegram from Mother saying Nervas’ baby was seriously ill and I went to the Inkom and administered to Nerva’s three children, Joel, George & Kenneth.

I spent the time until 1 A.M. when I walked to the Ry Station and took train for home

20 March 1922 • Monday

Arrived home about 8:30 A.M. from Idaho. Cleaned up and went to the temple where I gave direction to the work of improvement being made. Worked at my desk &c until 6:30 P.M.

Mamie & family took supper with us and spent the evening, also.

21 March 1922 • Tuesday

Attended to my temple duties as usual.

Addressed a theological class at the L.D.S. H School on Genealogy and temple work. Am revising my commentary of Subjects as I have the time. Sarah and Hugh & their children took supper with us and spent some time visiting in the evening.

22 March 1922 • Wednesday

I went to the temple early [page break] and attended to my usual duties there. I attended M.I.A. Gen. Bd. Meeting and offered prayr. Attended my Circle meeting & the Ensign Stake Priesthood meeting.

23 March 1922 • Thursday

Attended to my duties at the temple as usual and attended weekly Council meeting in the temple. Spent the evening at home working on my Commentary.

24 March 1922 • Friday

Attended to my regular temple duties and did some special work sealing 14 couples and several families of children to parents of our own folks. I spent the evening at home working on my books. Alice and Joel assisted me with the sealing of our people.

25 March 1922 • Saturday

I went to the temple as usual in the early morning.

Worked at my desk and gave direction to the work of improvements. With Alice I attended the organ recital at 12 noon.

We called on my sister Nerva who was ill and in bed with supposedly nervious weakness I administered to her. Alice & I attended a Primary benefit Concert in our (27th) ward at night. [page break]

26 March 1922 • Sunday

I attended 22nd ward Sunday School and addressed the Parents’ class, the Theological Sen. & Jr. Classes combined upon the Subject of “Marriage, a Divine Institution”.

Attended Ensign Stake Conference meeting at 2 P.M. in the Large Tabernacle and the 27th ward meeting in the evening a which Pres. Hugh J Cannon was the Speaker.

After meeting we went up to Joels and had luncheon. Geo. & Edith, Hugh & Sarah and Mother & I were guests

LeGrand & Ina came in later & we had a good visit until 11 P.M.

It commenced to rain about 4 P.M. and by 7 P.M. turned into snow and it was a stormy night.

27 March 1922 • Monday

I went to the temple in the morning as usual.

Finished revising my commentary which Nina is rewriting on larger sheets.

I spent the evening at home.

28 March 1922 • Tuesday

Attended to my duties as usual at the temple. Did some sealing for the dead, about 20 or 25 couples. My Son LeGrand & I visited my sister Nerva at her home on 4th Ave. and administered to her. She has been confined to her bed for about a week. [page break]

Word received to-day from my daughter Nerva of Inkom Idaho reports her baby Kenneth as improving. He has been very ill with Pneumonia & Stomach or bowel trouble. Alice & I as guests of my son LeGrand helped to make a party of eight and we went to the Pantages. Geo & Joel & our four wives.

29 March 1922 • Wednesday

I took 7:30 car and went to the temple where I attended to my duties as usual, Had considerable sealing for both the living and the dead.

This day about 325 endowments were administered to the Snow Family kindred dead, as a birthday anniversary commemoration. I sealed Bro. James Hood and wife and Alice & I took them to supper at the Cafe. Alice & Estella Lee went through the temple.

Attended my prayer circle as usual.

Spent the evening at home.

30 March 1922 • Thursday

Attended to my regular duties at the temple; also, attended regular weekly Council meeting in the temple from 10 A.M. to about 4 P.M. except while I was out attending to some sealing work. Spent the evening at home. [page break]

31 March 1922 • Friday

I made the talk at the temple meeting this morning and spoke upon the subject of marriage as a sacred, religious principle and ordinance &c.

Attended to my temple duties as usual. My daughter Nina, her husband and children took supper and spent the evening with us, the first time since their release from Smallpox quarantine.
