1 June 1927 • Wednesday
Pres. Grant was the speaker at the Temple meeting. I sealed 35 living couples and 15 couples of the dead. Jos. F. Smith Jr. sealed 20 couples. This is a big day for marriages. In the evening I took my wife and Sister Nerva down to Joel F. Groves and visited with him, his wife & sister Alice. He just yesterday came from the Hospital where he underwent a serious intestinal operation, Some portion of the bowel having been removed thereby.

Mother & I went to the Temple as usual in the early morning.
Later attended Weekly Council meeting. Attended to the sealings of the living &c.

Attended to temple work

I took Electric O.S.L. train for Nephi where I attended Juab Stake Conference. I spoke at both forenoon and afternoon meetings occupying about 35 or 40 min. at each. I returned as far as Provo in auto with Thos Taylor Jr. and from there came by Electric train arriving in Salt Lake at 7:45 P.M.
5 June 1927 • Sunday
I went to Nephi again via O.S.L. Ry Attended and Spoke at forenoon and [page break] afternoon meetings occupying about 40 min. at each. The forenoon meeting was devoted to graduation exercises for the 24 graduates from the Stake Seminary. I spoke <to> them. In the afternoon I spoke of some of the fallacies of Sectarians and of the beauties of the true gospel. History repeats itself. We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling. &c.
At close of afternoon meeting Prests Belliston & Burton with their wives took me to Payson where I got the 5:15 P.M. Electric train for home. Spent the remainder of the evening at home. LeGrand & Ina & Oliver & Marie called on us. This day Oliver was set apart assistant in the Waterloo Ward S. School. LeGrand has been notified that when he moves into his new house in Normandy heights, he will be wanted as a High Councilor in the Liberty Stake. George F. Jr. has been made Stake Superintendent of Sunday Schools in Ensign Stake recently.
6 June 1927 • Monday
I spent four hours at the temple. I took Mother to see her Sister Marian on W Temple between 1st & 2nd street and I administered to her. I took mother & Nerva to Nina’s in Sugar House and In the evening we made calls on LeGrand & Ina, Geo & Edith, Nina & Orin and Mamie & Clarence. We took George and edith for a ride after 9: P.M.
Our boy Ray left home at 7:30 P.M. for a hike upon the mountain with other saints.
7 June 1927 • Tuesday
Mother and I went to the Temple as usual where I spent a busy day. [page break] We called at Bro & Sis. Bush’s about 9:30 P.M. Found Oliver & Marie there and took them from for a ride.
8 June 1927 • Wednesday
Mother and I went to the Temple in the morning as usual and had a busy day, Many sealing of young people, June marriages. We went down to Sugar House in the evening. Our daughter Ruby came from Cornish and went to Mamie’s to stay.
9 June 1927 • Thursday
We went to the Temple in the early morning as usual. R. S. Wells speaker Attended regular weekly council meeting and later a meeting of the Twelve & First Council of Seventy, from 10: A.M. to about 4: P.M. In the evening I assisted Pres Grant & family in sealing a good many children to parents. I did the Sealing. We left the Temple about 11: P.M.
10 June 1927 • Friday
June Conference convenes this morning. I attended to my duties at the Temple as usual.
I left the Temple about 7:30 P.M. and took to their homes, Sisters Cain, Lee Steed. Called at Nina’s in Sugar House, and at LeGrand’s new home in normandy Heights.
They were eating their first meal in the new home, just moving in.
11 June 1927 • Saturday
Conference. I attended to my desk work at the Temple. Spent some time with T. S. Taylor examining chairs &c. Had a busy day. I took Alice and [page break] her three sisters Sarah, Annie & Estella and our daughter Ruby up City Creek Canyon and had them to Supper.
12 June 1927 • Sunday
I attended Testimony meeting of the young people 8:30 A.M. and Conference at 10: & 2: o’clock and at 7: P.M. I offered opening prayer in afternoon session presided over by Pres. Heber J. Grant.
Mother, Ray, & I took dinner with Oliver & Mamie.
13 June 1927 • Monday
I spent some time at the Temple and Interviewed the First Presidency & they authorized me to have the chairs in the Temple repaired to make them noisles[s]. I had recommended buying new chairs but after having had four chairs repaired became convinced that a good job could be done, which I had thought to be impossible.
14 June 1927 • Tuesday
Mother and I took Ruby to the 7:00 A.M. O.S.L. train on her way home From there we went to the Temple. I did the Speaking at the Temple meeting We had a busy day. This day our son Ray while working at the New ward Amusement Hall and while carrying a plank stepped on a nail which penetrated his foot to quite a depth. He was taken to the S.L. Clinic and treated, but he has a bad foot.
15 June 1927 • Wednesday
I had a busy day [page break] at the Temple. Ray received treatment by a Doctor at the S.L. Clinic an antitoxin was given to prevent Lock-jaw and it caused him much pain.
16 June 1927 • Thursday
I was at my work at the Temple at about 7:30 A.M. During the day I took Mother & others out to her Sister Annie Steeds and later went and got them viz. Sister Forester, Maria Clark, Estella Lee.
Attended weekly Council meeting Did the Sealing of the living 12 or 14 couples. &c.
17 June 1927 • Friday
Mother & I went to the Temple as usual. R. R. Lyman speaker at the Temple meeting
I took 12:45 train for LaGrand, Oregon.
18 June 1927 • Saturday
I arrived in LaGrand on 8:15 A.M. Met with Pres. Hanks & Counselor Black of the Union Stake Presidency for an hour before the Conference opened. I spoke at the 10:00 A.M. meetings and the 2:00 P.M. Meeting and in the evening attended an entertainment. Stayed at the home of Pres. Hanks.

I spent part of the day at the Temple Tuesday.
This day I reached home i.e. Salt Lake at 6: P.M. My Son Ray met me at the Ry. Station with his car. We took Jos F. Smith home on 12th East St. and called at Ninas & took Supper where Mother was visiting.
21 June 1927 • Tuesday
We had a busy day at the Temple Toward evening Mother & I called at her Sister Annie’s and got her and Estella and went up to Arthur Erden’s on his invitation and inspected his Orchard &c & ate to our satisfaction of Cherries & Strawberries. We called & Saw Nina & called at Clarences & they were away. Called at LeGrands & I took Him & Ina & Marion & Nina with Mother in my car and we went and saw and administered to Bro Ringdall who is near the end.

A very busy day at the Temple I went out long enough to visit and administer to Bro. John W. Tate.

Attended the weekly Council meeting and attended to my duties at the temple also.
24 June 1927 • Friday
I attended to my temple work as usual. I had tires put on the rear wheels of my auto at a cost of 22.40 each including tubes. [page break] the old ones have gone 16,000 mi. according to the Speedometer.
Leaving home at 6:00 P.M. I took my Franklin car and with me, my wife my daughters Nina and Estella & Nina’s three children and we went to Cornish, Utah where we spent the night with Ruby & Jack. Saw Edna in Ogden.

Cornish.
I drove to Wellsville, 35 miles, and attended Hyrum Stake Conference and spoke at each meeting

Cornish, Utah.
I drove my car to Wellsville where I attended Hyrum Stake Conference. I spoke at both meetings and after meetings went to Logan and met the folks, Jack & Ruby having brought them that far and we came home Leaving Logan about 4:45 P.M. we arrived in Salt Lake @ about 8:30 We called to see Edna in Ogden on our way home but she was not in so we did not get to see her.
27 June 1927 • Monday
I went to the Temple and attended to desk work and other matters needing attention
In the evening I took Mother Lucena & Rega & their children for a ride. Called at Nina’s & Mamie’s, Edna came down from Ogden and phoned us at Ninas. We picked her up on Main & 3rd So. [page break] and took her to our home from where she phoned Lorenzo Stohl about leaving the Beneficial Life and working for Hinckley in the Dodge line. We took her to the 10:30 P.M. train and she returned to Ogden.
28 June 1927 • Tuesday
I attended Temple meeting and quarterly meeting of the Twelve and attended to correspondence and other desk work. I spent eleven hours in the Temple Mother & I took W. O. Robison to their home 8th So & 10th East and took Estella and Spencer down to Nina’s and back. Wrote to Sarah & sent $5.00 birth day Present.

I was the Speaker at the Temple meeting in the morning and I had a busy day at the Temple. I had to have help with the living sealings. It was 11:15 when we left the temple.
30 June 1927 • Thursday
Attended morning Temple meeting and Regular Council meeting & did the Sealings of living couples In the evening I did sealings for the Tate family & the Wood Robinson family from 5:30 to about 9: P.M. Left for home at 10:05. A busy day
