1 November 1927 • Tuesday
I went to the Temple as usual where we attended to our duties as usual. I went to the Hospital and administered to my daughter-in law Ina and to a sister Waite of Erda.
I wrote to my daughters Sarah & Ruby. I took Geo. & Edith and Mother down to Oliver’s where we spent an hour or two in the evening. [page break]
2 November 1927 • Wednesday
Mother & I went to the Temple as usual. Later we went up to the home of B. Morris Young and I gave him a blessing. Later with Elder Geo. A. Smith I went to the home of Bro. Arthur F. Barnes and we gave him a blessing.
3 November 1927 • Thursday
Attended to my duties at the Temple as usual.
Attended weekly Council meeting from 10: A.M. to 2 P.M.
I played a game of Golf with my sons George & LeGrand. Returned to the Temple and from there went to the 28th ward and attended farewell reception for the daughter of Frank Robinson.
4 November 1927 • Friday
Attended to my duties at the Temple as usual. Mother & I attended a game of football at Cummings field between L.D.S. & West High in which our Son Ray played. Took train at night for Twin Falls Stake.
5 November 1927 • Saturday
Arrived at Murtaugh, Idaho at 12:15 P.M. and was met by Bp. David G. Moyes and taken to his fathers home to dinner then to the meeting house where the first meeting of the stake Conference was held and the meeting house was dedicated. I offered the prayer of dedication.
I set apart the two Counselors to the bishopric. After meeting we drove to Twin Falls, called and saw the Hansen Bridge and the Canta[page break]leaver toll bridge 1400 ft long, 475 feet high. I met the Stake Presidency in the evening.
6 November 1927 • Sunday
Twin Falls.
Am well.
I attended and spoke at forenoon and afternoon Sessions of the conference. Set apart a number of officers, and took 5:40 P.M. train for home.
7 November 1927 • Monday
Arrived home from Twin Falls on 7: A.M. train. Attended to some desk work at the Temple and in the afternoon played a game of golf with my Sons George & LeGrand. In the evening I went to the Dentist and had a tooth filled.
8 November 1927 • Tuesday
Attended to my Temple work as usual. Assisted in setting apart a company of missionaries. I set apart five and made opening prayer.
I called at Police headquarters and had a conversation with Commissioner Burton Theodore T., and Chief of Police about the City administration &c. for election information.
Yesterday on my recommendation Albert W. Davis was released from his work at the Temple’s also Rega Card was employed as a keeper of the Door &c.

I attended to my duties at the Temple as usual. Attended my Circle meeting. It was late at night when Mother & I left the temple at close of work [page break]

I spent part of the day at the Temple, and part at home studying. Stormy Day.
13 November 1927 • Sunday
I attended Grant Stake Conference by appointment, Sister Richards accompanying me. We took dinner at the home of Jos. Anderson one of the Stake Presidency. I Spoke at both forenoon & afternoon meeting.
In the evening I spoke in the Ensign ward. Mother went there with me also. It was a busy strenuous day.

14 November 1927 • Monday
I spent part of the day at my desk in the Temple, and part at home. I took Mother & Estella down to Ninas.
George came over and spent the evening with us and used the radio.
15 November 1927 • Tuesday
I attended to my duties at the Temple as usual and spent the evening at home. [page break]
16 November 1927 • Wednesday
I attended to my duties at the temple as usual. Attended my Circle meeting in the evening and later attended a farewell reception tendered to Bro & Sis J. A. Widtsoe by the General Bds. of the Y.M.M. & Y.L.M.I. Associations, held in the Bishops Bldg, Sister Richards with me. I spoke briefly on my missionary experiences in Europe.
17 November 1927 • Thursday
I attended weekly Council meeting and attended to my duties at the Temple. Spent the evening at home after coming from the Temple about 8:30 or 9: P.M.
18 November 1927 • Friday
Mother & I went to the Temple as usual for the 8:25 A.M. meeting and attended to our duties then during the day and evening.
19 November 1927 • Saturday
I spent part of the day cutting & working on the lawn and about the house and played a game of golph in the afternoon with my Son George and Spencer & Heber Taylor.
Spent the evening at home.
20 November 1927 • Sunday
Stephen L. Richards & I attended the Cottonwood Stake Conference and reorganized the Presidency & H Council Both spoke at each meeting and had much counseling between and set apart officers newly chosen and sustained. [page break]
21 November 1927 • Monday
Stormy. I went to the Temple and attended to my desk work, correspondence &c. Spent some time getting repairs made on my car. Spent the evening at home.
22 November 1927 • Tuesday
Mother & I attended to our duties at the Temple. I played golf with LeGrand & Elliott Taylor from 4 to 5:15 P.M. I set apart thirteen missionaries of a Company of more than Eighty. Called on Pres Grant & congratulated him on this his 71st birth day.
I returned to the Temple in the evening.
23 November 1927 • Wednesday
Mother & I went to the Temple as usual in the early morning, where I attended to my duties as usual and attended my circle meeting at 6:30 P.M. We left the Temple for home about 8:00 P.M.
24 November 1927 • Thursday
Thanksgiving Day I played golf with my sons, George & LeGrand in the forenoon and in the afternoon took my son Ray to the football game, Contest between the U of U & the U.A.C. teams. Neither obtained a score. Mother, Edna, Ray and I took dinner with Orin & Nina. We furnished the Turky. Edna returned to Ogden on 8: P.M. train and I took Mother, Orin and Nina to the Victory show at night. A very pleasant day & happy associations. All well. [page break]

I left home for Garfield Stake on 8:15 train. Arrived at Marysvale at 4: P.M. where I was met by Pres. of the Stake Bro Rowan and taken about 35 miles to Antimony where the Stake Conference was to be held. I stayed at Pres Rowan’s home.

Am well
Good weather
I attended and spoke at both the forenoon and afternoon meetings and held council meetings between.
We considered men for the Bishopric of Circleville ward, in the reorganizations. The Lord helped me as usual, may His name be praised for ever.
27 November 1927 • Sunday

Am well & happy
Dry ground & cold
Attended a meeting of the Stake Presidency called for 9: A.M. and the forenoon & afternoon session of conference and occupied about 40 minutes at each. We drove to Circleville about 30 miles and attended evening meeting and reorganized the Bishopric. I set apart James Lorenzo Whittaker & ordained him Bp. I ordained Robert Ellwood Dalton an High Priest and set him apart 1st Counselor. Clarence LeFever was sustained as Second Counselor, but was absent from home, not set apart. After meeting we went to Junction about 8 miles where I stayed all night with Pres Ipsom. At Circle—I took supper with an elderly Lister & family named Whittaker. [page break]

I rode with Pres. Henderson and Bp. John Wells from Junction to Marysvale where I got train at 8:40 and reached Salt Lake at 4:25 P.M. Mother & I went to a show, the Victory.
29 November 1927 • Tuesday
I attended to my duties at the Temple as usual. Played a game of golf with my Son George, Went back to the Temple for evening.
We fixed up a box and sent by Elder Cannon, Son of Bp S. Q. Cannon to Hugh & Sarah for Christmas.
30 November 1927 • Wednesday
I attended to my Temple duties as usual. Called at City Co. Bldg. & payed my taxes. Wrote to Hugh & Sarah. Sealed 19 couples living and some couples. Attended circle meeting at 6:30 P.M.
