Religious Thoughts.

The Scriptures are replete with predictions of a falling away from the true Gospel of the Redeemer. History and a comparison of the forms of churches and their creeds with the Church and doctrines of the Primitive Church clearly prove that there has been a falling away or an apostasy from the true Church.

The scriptures are replete with predictions of a restoration of the Gospel in the last days. We declare to the world that those scriptures have been fulfilled and that there has been a restoration of the Gospel in our day.

The scriptures tell us that a marvelous work and a wonder should come forth in the last days. The Church of Jesus Christ and the restored Gospel together, known as Mormonism, is a marvel and a wonder. See. Vice Pres. Of the U.S. Thos R. Marshall, Josiah Chauncy & others.

The Scripture tells us that God hath chosen the weak things of the earth, things which are despised, not many mighty, or noble to accomplish his work that no flesh shall glory in his presence. Joseph Smith was raised up of the Lord for the accomplishment of this restoration of the Gospel and the establishment of the Church and Kingdom of God on the earth, as Jeremiah, John the Baptist and others were raised up to accomplish the work they did.

The works of God proclaim him the Creator of all things, so the works of Jos. Smith prove him to be a mighty prophet of the last days. [page break]
