I spent the forenoon at home at my desk. I wrote to LeGrand and later received a letter from him directed to the President’s office. Went down town at 2:00 P.M. Attended to sever[al] important items of business including the paying of my life insurance premium with the Columbian National.

Attended M.I.A. Gen Bd. Meeting and my Circle meeting. My son Geo met me at temple gate & brought me home on his Motorcycle. Spent the evening at home. My son George came in and spent about an hour. Received a letter from LeGrand dated May 10, 1916—in which he sets forth his conditions in family & asks about his release, not asking for one however.
