Tooele Weather pleasant [p. 104] I issued bills to parties ownig[owing], mailed report to Abram; sold hay to davie, hauled hay into Vick’s stable. &c and in the evening attended a theatre “Enoch Order”

Tooele Weather pleasant. I attended Fast meeting & blessed Geo. Horman’s baby Florinda Pearl Horman. Administered to Sister Agnes Dick & assisted in adm. to Sister Deu’s baby.

Tooele Weather pleasant but muddy.

I hung gates & made fastenings, repaired fence &c. In the Evening, I attended to some business for the Relief society trying to secure 80 bu. wheat loaned to the Store before it assigned. I bathed in the evening.

Tooele Weather pleasant but cool. I took J. W. Tate with me in my buggy to Grantsville where we attended Stake Priesthood meeting & High Council meeting after. Took dinner with A. G. Johnson & returned home in the evening roads muddy.

Tooele Weather Stormy in morning. I shaved & went to Sunday school & offered the opening prayr. Bro Beesley was there & Spoke. After School I went to Grantsville where we held Ward Conference & I spoke [p. 105] the time being divided equally between Prest. Gowans & myself. Returned home at 7:30 P.M. spent the remaining portion of the evening at home. All tolerably well.

I attended the sale at Co-op & bought nothing. Spent the evening at home.

Collected $16.25 from J. C. DeLaMare. Went & saw Swen Nelson &c.

I had James Hammond hauling manure while I visited the School attended to School business, trustees meeting; attended sale & Spent the evening at home, played checkers with Hammond boys. All well

I hauled manure and sold two loads of hay. Spent the evening at home, played checkers, &c. read. All well

I hauled manure in the forenoon and in the afternoon visited the Schools and had the Schools photographed. Attended the Co-op sale and bought more than $20.00 worth of goods. Spent the evening at home. All well. Estella attended the Surprise on May Lee. [p. 106]

I greased harness and in the afternoon went down to the co-op sale & made purchases. Notified Amusement committee of meeting & held meeting at 4 P.M. J. W. Tate came home with me, took supper and spent the evening. Thos. DeLaMare called in the evening & paid me $6.00 interest. All usually well.

Tooele All Weather windy & cold. Alice & I attended the sale at Co-op, Attended County Teacher’s Institute. &c. Received of Swen Nelson $50.00 ck. bal. on his note of $250.00 Spent the evening at home reading & studying. <Snowed at night about 3 inches>

I attended Sunday School & Y.M.M.I.A. conference in the afternoon and evening. Studied Civil Government between meetings preparing a lecture for next day. After the evening meeting I set Thos. L. Speirs apart to a mission in the Stake Home mission.

Tooele Weather pleasant. I got up early and hauled hay into barn and filled mangers for cows. Attended the Y.M.M.I.A. Conference meeting and lectured on Civil Government. Sold a load of hay to Alvin Watters. Attended the Sale [p. 107] at Co-op & made purchases. In the evening I attended the theatre, Grantsville troupe. Alice accompanied me.

I sold two loads of hay and topped poplars. In the evening I attended Civil government Class and took part in the discussions.

I did some work in the Shop and then got James Hammond to grease harness while I went down to the Co-op sale. Spent the evening at home. All are well.

I sold hay and trimmed & topped Poplar trees Went down to E. Greens in Donaldsons house & administered to his children and blessed the baby Bro. Geo. Atkin assisting. Alice and I went down to Hammonds a little while in the evening. Estella went to the party in the evening. Worlds Fare party.

I sold hay, put together greased harness and trimmed & topped Poplars. [p. 108]

In the evening I attended a School Trustee’s meeting held at our house. all are well except Alice who is bothered with tooth ache one that has been filled.

I trimmed & topped Poplars and sold two loads of hay. Sold poles to Howard Herron. In the evening I shaved bathed &c. All well.

I started for Clover at 9 A.M. to attend Ward Conference there. When I arrived at Alma Young‘s at Slagtown I found them preparing to tak[e] their 14 yr. old daughter who had died Friday A.M., to Tooele for burial. By request I stopped and preached the funeral sermon and then returned to Tooele & dedicated the grave Bro. John Alstrom went to Clover and explained why I was absent. In the evening, I attended meeting presided over by the Seventies. After meeting I read aloud from Dan Jones 40 Yrs among the Indians.

Tooele Weather Stormy. I took Alice up to Hoogland’s and to store in buggy. Arranged to get hay weighed on Co-op scales @ 25¢ for two loads. [p. 109] Hauled sand to repair road from barn yard to front gates. In the evening I staid home and studied. All well excepting Alice who has toothache.

Tooele Weather Stormy all day. I hauled sand on road by the house & sold hay. In the evening I attended Civil Gov. class & lectured, called on Miss Rowberry before meeting to arrange for giving music lessons in school by Prof. Beesley.

About 12 inches of snow & still snowing the depth does not seem to increase as it settles as fast as it falls.

I made paths & shoveled snow. Tried to talk with Abram about sale of hay [Prsu?] but could not get a message through. Put a plank floor in Vicks stall, repaired the stable door &c. Spent the evening at home. The Hammond boys came up and we played checkers. I getting four games out of five.

I attended to the regular work of the Ranch sold hay. Raised the price of hay from 6.00 to $7.00 per ton. Had adv. put in the Times. [p. 110] Called on Dr. Davis in the evening & played checkers. Sold hay to [Breauno?].

I continued the regular work of the Ranch.

Took Geo Remington (Watermaster) with me in the buggy & went to see Johnson Warburton & Atkin about water transfer & change of tickets on Court House ditch. While at Atkins took dinner there. Bought a dark irongray or black horse colt which will be a year old on the 4th of May next for $50.00 of A. J. Johnson Called at Hammonds & played checkers a little while in the evening. Sarah is quite sick. (Shaved)

I fasted went after a load of coal and at meeting 10 A.M. went to the fast meeting spoke while there. After meeting, I took dinner and then sold hay to John England &c. Spent the evening at home James Hammond & Adred came up and we played Checkers in the evening.

Apostle Lyman being at home Prest Gowans remained at home and I went down to Batesville and attended to the business of the [p. 111] annual ward conference of that branch. Took dinner with Bro. Jas. Woods. By request, I called on Bro. & Sis. Dykes and administered to her. Attended the evening meeting in Tooele.

I sold eight small loads of hay, dug up posts in South field, raised the Bailer out of the ground and propped it up. &c. In the evening I wrote up my Journal from Thursday 22nd until date & made some entries in Ranch Book. All are pretty well.

I sold several tons of hay, cleaned out privy, repaired rack stand &c. In the evening I did some writing of accounts &c and accompanied Alice down to Hammonds where I met Mr Howell and played him two games of checkers. Retired late.

The wind commenced to blow towards night. I sold several tons of hay, bought new shoes; cleaned up manure Attended Father Greens funeral and offered the Dedicatory prayr at the grave. Got recommends for the family to go to the Temple [p. 112] dedication. Went to the Basin pasture with team & buggy to see the animals. Alice & the two little girls accompanied me.

In the evening I wrote in my Journal & made some entries in the Ranch record. All are well.

I sold three loads hay, issued bills to parties owing &c. In the evening I shingled the three boys.

Sold and loaded hay and worked on my March report. In the evening I attended a meeting of the water owners in the kelsey ditch held at Sister Phisters house. I was elected water master for one year.
