1 went to the Temple as usual and presided at the Temple. Attended to other Temple duties during the day. I went with Mother & Geo. L. & Nerva to the Capitol Show

2 April 1929 • Tuesday

I attended weekly quarterly meeting of the Twelve from 9:30 to 5: P.M.

3 April 1929 • Wednesday

Pleasant weather

I attended Temple meeting at 8:30 A.M. Attended meeting of the Twelve, the First Council of Seventy and Mission Presidents, Sealed eight or ten couples and attended to desk work.

Attended my prayer circle meeting in the evening and as per ruling of our Council last Thursday by suggestion per S. L. R. that all circles presided over by members of the Twelve be discontinued, this will be our last meeting of the kind.

4 April 1929 • Thursday

Attended Temple meeting at 8:30, Council of Twelve meeting at 9:00 and Weekly Council meeting at 10: A.M. [page break] I attended to desk work and sealings &c.

5 April1929 • Friday

Stormy, heavy snowfall

The 99th annual Conference of the Church convened this A.M. and two sessions were held, both of which I attended. I spent the evening at home. We took Bro & Sis Whitney to & from the meetings.

6 April1929 • Saturday

Stormy.

Attended two regular sessions of Conference and the General Priesthood meeting at night.

7 April 1929 • Sunday

A beautiful day

I attended two regular sessions of Conference and the Des. Sun. School Union Conference in the evening. I was one of the Speakers in the afternoon meeting and occupied about 15 min. Crowded for time.

Mother attended all conference meetings, regular sessions. We carried Bro & Sis. O. F. Whitney to & from the meetings.

8 April 1929 • Monday

I attended to my duties at the Temple as usual. A clear, cold day. I have a severe cold settling on my lungs and have spit up blood. It began yesterday.

9 April 1929 • Tuesday

Am feeling better.

It snowed last night several inches and continued until we had quite a depth of snow. Cars were being stalled. Bro Gibbs had to dig his car out of the snow to leave the garage. [page break] I went to the Temple in the morning and remained until afternoon. Had several callers, attended to correspondence &c. I took Mother, Ruby, Nina & Mamie down to Sarah’s 2304 So., 7th East, returned to the Temple and remained until about 4:05 when I went down to Sarah’s & got the folks. Mother & I spent the evening at home.

Ruby & Jack came from Cornish last week and on advice of the Doctor Jack went to the Hospital and took to bed for treatment on account of his heart and high blood pressure. We took Ruby to the hospital (Holy Cross) at 7:30 P.M. and called for her at 9: P.M. She is staying with us.

10 April 1929 • Wednesday

Home.

Another heavy fall of snow last night and to-day.

Mother & I have severe colds.

We went to the Temple as usual in the morning and spent a busy day until about 8: P.M. This being Oliver’s 25th birth day we called on him later in the evening. We took Edith home from the Temple and got Ruby at the Holy Cross Hospital and took her with us to Olivers and there to Mamies where we left her for the night.

11 April 1929 • Thursday

Pleasant day.

The snow is melting fast.

Mother & I went to the Temple as usual in the morning. After the Temple meeting I sealed a couple & then met the Twelve in the Temple and later the Presidency & Twelve. [page break]

I took my car to the Shop to be greased and have oil changed &c.

12 April 1929 • Friday

Mother & I went to the Temple as usual. At noon time I took mother home and got Ruby & took them down to Nerva’s home & returned to the Temple. Later I went to a show with Mother, Ruby & Mamie, and still later went to the wrestling match with my son George, compliment of Bro. McCullam.

13 April 1929 • Saturday

Weather pleasant.

I went to the Temple at 8:15 A.M.

We held a meeting with a group of boys from Provo and I instructed them. Attended to work at my desk as usual.

I left Salt Lake with my car and Mother, Nerva & Thelma for American Fork about 6:20. I there attended the Stake Priesthood meeting at 7:30 the opening of the Alpine Stake Conference. We returned home after meeting. At the meeting there were 224 present. I occupied nearly an hour.

14 April 1929 • Sunday

My Son LeGrand accompanied me in my car to American Fork where we attended the Alpine Stake Conference. Pres. Grant was at the morning meeting and occupied about 50 min. I spoke at both meeting’s & LeGrand spoke in afternoon meeting.

In the evening, Mother & I attended Court of Honor for Scouts of Ensign Stake held in 20th ward chapel. Our Son [page break] Ray received a number of badges of merit. He now has 82 merit badges.

15 April 1929 • Monday

My Mother’s birth day. I went to the Temple as usual, Mother remained home house cleaning.

I played a game of golf with my sons George & LeGrand after 5:50 P.M.

16 April 1929 • Tuesday

Baptismal day

I went to the Temple in the morning, and later played golf with Frank Y. Taylor and Joseph Anderson.

I called at my daughter Sarah’s home 2304 So. 7th E. and blessed her little boy Max who fell from their porch last evening and broke his left arm above the wrist, later I brought Max & Sarah up to the Doctor’s. I returned to the Temple and to my work. I called on Pres. Grant during the day.

I remained at the Temple until after 6: P.M.

17 April 1929 • Wednesday

To-day I played a game of Golf with Prests Grant, Nibley & F. Y. Taylor. Pres. Grant made a score of 41, the best score he has ever made. I made a score of 42, the best score I have ever made The score was as follows 6,5,4,5,4,5,3,3,7/42

I sealed about 8 or 10 living couples., Spoke at the funeral services of Wm M. Egan held in the 19th ward chapel. I took Jack & Ruby from the Holy Cross Hospital to our home. Jack has been under treatment at the hospital for about 10 days, for high blood pressure, faulty circulation &c.

Mother & I went through the Temple [page break] with the last evening company 317 in number.

18 April 1929 • Thursday

Attended meeting of the Twelve from 8:30 to 10: and the regular council from 10: A.M. to 1: P.M.

Attended to my sealing work, correspondence &c.

19 April 1929 • Friday

I attended to my duties at the Temple as usual and in the evening I took train for Burley & Oakley.

20 April 1929 • Saturday

Arrived in Burley at 11:55 A.M. & was met at the Ry Station by a Bro. Hale who took me by auto 24 miles to Oakley. I made my stay at the home of the Stake President Bro. Clark. The first meeting of the Cassia Stake Conference was held this afternoon. I was one of the speakers. In the evening I met with the Stake Presidency in the Stake Officers Bldg.

I spoke at the funeral services of Sis. Warren.

21 April 1929 • Sunday

I attended and spoke at both forenoon and afternoon meetings. I administered to three Children, I ordained & set apart a number of people including Wm T Harper a Patriarch.

I was taken back to Burley by the Stake Presidency where I got the 6:20 P.M. train for home-

22 April 1929 • Monday

Threatening rain.

I arrived in Salt Lake at 7:05 A.M. Went home and thence to the Temple. attended to my duties there as usual. [page break] Mother & I went home for supper and returned to the temple later.

23 April 1929 • Tuesday

Stormy

This is my son George’s 46th birth-day anniversary.

I went to the Temple in the morning as usual, where I spent most of the day.

Mother & I spent the evening at my Son George’s home and took supper with them.

24 April 1929 • Wednesday

Stormy day.

I attended to my duties at the Temple as usual, leaving the temple at 5:45 P.M. Mother & I took George & Edith & LeGrand & Ina to the Paramount in the evening.

25 April 1929 • Thursday

I attended an 8:30 A.M. meeting of the Twelve and 10: A.M. Council. Attended to the living sealings &c My appointments are this weekend at So. Davis Stake and next week-end at Roosevelt Stake.

Mother & I attended a banquet at Hotel Utah, of the Presidency, the Twelve & the Patriarch and their wives at 6: P.M. to 9:30 P.M. We later returned to the temple to see the finish of the day’s work.

26 April 1929 • Friday

Pleasant day.

Mother & I attended to our duties at the Temple as usual. My Son George & I attended to visited Jacob P. Olson at the hospital. We later attended a wrestling match.

27 April 1929 • Saturday

My Sons George & LeGrand & I [page break] played a game of golf in the early morning. after which I bathed and cleaned up for Sunday and went to the Temple where I spent most of the day.

In the evening I took my car and with me, Mother & daughter Nerva & her daughter Thelma and my Sister Nerva and went to Bountiful where we attended the first session of the So. Davis Stake Conference. I occupied about 30 minutes of the time. Officers meeting 396 Present.

28 April 1929 • Sunday

I went to Bountiful and attended the forenoon and afternoon meetings of So. Davis Stake Conference and Spoke at both meetings.

Mother went to Ogden with Lucena & Rega to see Edna. She returned about 9: o’clock P.M. and we went down to Sarah’s for a few minutes, i.e. a brief stay.

29 April 1929 Monday

Mother and I went to the Temple in the morning as usual.

In the afternoon I went to the hospital and blessed the following: Jacob P. Olsen, Jedediah M. Grant and Bella Gibson.

In the evening Mother & I went to the Play House with LeGrand & Ina as their guests. George & Joel & their wives were with us.

30 April 1929 • Tuesday

Stormy.

I went to the Temple and worked at my desk for about seven hours. [page break]
