Mother & I attended to our work at the temple as usual.

The sun shone out for a few moments
Our sick folks are better.
I took Mother down to Nina’s, had my car greased, oil changed &c Attended to a number of odd jobs and did some reading and studying.
3 February 1929 • Sunday
I had the appointment to Blaine stake but owing to the deep snow, the roads were made impassible & the conference was called off.
I attended the Sunday School and two public meetings in the 27th ward and was one of the Speakers in the evening meeting at which were the Presidency of the Stake the High Council and other visitors, it being ward conference. A busy day in the ward.
After the evening meeting Mother & I rode with Joel & Georgina down to Mamies LeGrand had Spoken in that ward and he & Ina went to Mamie’s after meeting.
Refreshments were served and we had an enjoyable visit.
4 February 1929 • Monday
Stormy day.
Mother & I went to the Temple in the early morning as usual where we had a busy day. I did the speaking in the morning meeting, attended to the sealings &c. Toward evening I took Mother down to Sugar House to Ninas [page break] and we took Nerva & Sarah to a vitophone show.
5 February 1929 • Tuesday
Snow storm still on.
I attended to a marriage of Clara Swenson to Bro [blank] Anderson at 7:15 A.M.
I spent 20 min. in the dental chair & about ten hours in the Temple.
I took supper with Mamie & family, and with Mother remained there until after 8: P.M. At 9: P.M. had a directors meeting of the Richards Motor Co at our home.

Cold with snow on the ground.
This is my son LeGrand’s birth-day anniversary the 43d
Mother & I went to the Temple in the morning as usual where we attended to our duties and had much satisfaction & Joy therein. I attended my circle meeting and at 7:45 P.M. Mother, George & Edith as my guests went with me to the paramount.

The wind and cold of yesterday continued through the night and continues to-day Mother & I went to the temple in the early morning as usual.
Attended Temple meeting 8:30 to 9: A.M. and weekly Council meeting 10: to 1:30 Attended to business for the Temple with Z.S. Bk & T Co & Genealogical Society pertaining to Matthew’s family acct.

Cold weather continues.
I had my tooth treated, had new plates put on my car. Took Mother down to Sugar House and left her with Nina who is in bed, ill and later in the day went after her. I spent part of the day studying.
10 February 1929 • Sunday
I spent the forenoon at home studying. Attended the Tabernacle meeting, Pres. Hinckley of Liberty Stake was the speaker-
I went to Sugar House after Mother and Edna. Called on Joel F. Grover and administered to him. We called on the Patriarch who has been confined to his home for weeks. Listened to Elder J. E. Talmage’s radio address. &c.
11 February 1929 • Monday
Cold & Smoky
Mother & I went to the Temple as usual in the early morning. and remained until about 7: P.M. A busy day.
12 February 1929 • Tuesday
Still Cold.
On invitation of the Intermountain Film Co. I took a number of my family members to the Paramount & saw “Facing West.” A real film showing the pioneers &c. A good picture.
I spent part of the day studying.
13 February 1929 • Wednesday
Weather moderating-
Mother & I attended Temple meeting and attended to other Temple duties. We attended funeral services of Jos. H. Grant held in 10th ward House and went to Bountiful with the cortege [page break] My Sister Nerva & her daughter Marcia went with Mother & me.
We remained at the Temple until both evening session were through & I did some sealing.
Yesterday I heard Lincoln Radio addresses & shed tears of sympathetic feeling Called on Sister Jos. H. Grant with my son LeGrand.
14 February 1929 • Thursday
Several inches of snow fell last night. Mother & I went to the Temple as usual. We had a large company of missionaries and I did the speaking.
Attended to much desk & other work and attended weekly Council meeting.
15 February 1929 • Friday
I took 7:00 A.M. train for Oakland and San Francisco S.P. Ry., to attend San Francisco Stake Conference. Had a comfortable ride all day & a good nights sleep.
16 February 1929 • Saturday
I arrived in Oakland at 8:00 A.M. & was met at the Ry. Station and taken to the Dimond & Eberhart wards by Stake President W. Aird Macdonald & inspected their meeting houses in course of construction.
Attended afternoon meeting & occupied about 40 minutes of the time. After this meeting I met with the Stake Presidency at the Presidents home for about 1½ hrs.
Attended a concert in the evening and made remarks in conclusion A busy day. I stayed at Pres McDonalds [page break]
17 February 1929 • Sunday
San Francisco & Oakland.
Attended forenoon and afternoon meetings of the Conference held in Oakland and Spoke about 50 min in each. Subjects: Witnesses & Apostate conditions &c. Attended a meeting of the high Council & Bishoprics at 12:20 for about 1½ hours. In the evening I accompanied Bros. MacDonald & Lindsay of the Stake Presidency to San Francisco, and stayed the night at the latters home. Attended meeting in Daly City ward and spoke upon the subject of marriage.
18 February 1929 • Monday
San Francisco.
I took 9:20 Ferry boat & 9:50 train, “Western Pacific,” for home, had a pleasant trip. Am well.
19 February 1929 • Tuesday
Arrived home from the Coast S. Frisco at 4:15 P.M. Mother & I went down to see Nina in the evening and I administered to Nina & Dorothy, both having been ill for some time.
20 February 1929 • Wednesday
Spent a busy day in the temple until after 7:30 P.M. when I took Mother & Edna down to Nina’s for a while and then left Edna at New House Hotel where she was to meet a gentleman with whom she came from Ogden, to return with him. Attended Circle meeting.
21 February 1929 • Thursday
I attended Temple meeting at [page break] 8:30 and regular weekly Council meeting at 10: A.M. and a committee meeting after. Worked at my desk until about 7: P.M. Spent the later evening at home. LeGrand & I visited & adm. to Joel F. Grover
22 February 1929 • Friday
Washingtons Birth day. No Temple services by the decision of Pres. Heber J. Grant.
I spent part of the day with my son George at the auto show. I visited my daughter Nina and Marie who were both confined to their beds with illness. Administered to Marie. Visited Emma Grover wife of my Nephew Joel F. Grover, Joel having died this morning. Mother & I attended 27th ward reunion.

My birth day the 68th
I spent part of the day at home and part at the Temple. Had a tooth filled by Dr Bird. In the evening I spoke at the Stake officer’s meeting of the Granite Stake held in the Richards ward chapel and from there went to my son LeGrands Home where members of my family were gathered in Honor of me on my 68th birthday anniversary We had a pleasant evening.
24 February 1929 • Sunday
Having the appointment to attend Granite Stake Conference I attended 10: A.M. & 2: P.M. Conference meetings held in Granite Stake Tabernacle & Spoke of both. Between these meetings I attended the funeral services of my Nephew Joel F. Grover held in Emerson Ward Chapel. I was one of the [page break] Speakers. In the evening I took Edna to the Ry. Station and Mother & I called and saw Marie who was confined to her bed. I called upon daughters Sarah & Nina & Mamie & clarence called on us.

Am well.
I attended to my duties at the temple as usual. A stormy day. A busy day of endowments.
26 February 1929 • Tuesday
Thawing.
I spent part of the day at the Temple I went to Murray and spoke at the funeral services of Heber C. Russell, one of our temple workers. In the evening I took Mother to the Capital Theater.
27 February 1929 • Wednesday
Stormy day. Much snow. Mother & I attended to our duties at the Temple as usual.
I attended my Circle meeting in the evening. Sister Elizabeth Shill died this morning, one of our Temple workers.
28 February 1929 • Thursday
I attended the 8:30 Temple meeting Attended weekly Council meeting. Attended to my duties at the Temple. I went to the Play House Matinee with Mother and then we went down to Nina’s. She has been in bed for four weeks with Cistitis, urinary troubles.
