All fairly well
I went to the Temple as usual and had a busy day. In the evening I attended my Circle meeting and later Sister R. & I went to the 21st Ward House where we attended a reception tendered the workers of Ensign Stake by their Presidency, the 21st Anniversary of the organization of the Stake.

Home.
Attended weekly Council meeting and attended to Temple duties. Sealed twenty-six couples and a number of children to parents, &c &c. With a number of the members of my family, I went to the ward show in the evening.
3 April 1925 • Friday
I attended the [page break] meeting of the Twelve, Seventy and Mission Presidents from 9:30 to about 5:00 P.M. Attended to Sealings between times. A busy day.
4 April 1925 • Saturday
I attended the General Conference meetings at 10:00 and 2:00 o’clock & the General priesthood meeting at 7:00 P.M.
5 April 1925 • Sunday
I attended the regular Conference meetings at 10:00 and 2:00 o’clock and heard the proceedings of the Sunday School Union meeting in the evening as broadcasted. Mother & I remained home & tended children while the younger people attended the meeting. At the afternoon meeting I was one of four speakers, occupying about 20 min. with good liberty. I thank the Lord for his help.
6 April 1925 • Monday
I attended the two Conference sessions at 10:00 & 2:00 o’clock and a reception & hand shake at the Bps. Building in the evening.
We have had some rain during the conference. The attendance has been large and good instruction and spirit enjoyed.
7 April 1925 • Tuesday
Raining. I arose early (5:35) and took 7:00 A.M. car for my work at the Temple, feeling well and happy. Attended Special Priesthood meeting from 10:00 to 12:00 o’clock. Attended the ceremonies of laying the Corner stone of the Mormon [page break] Battalion monument, being erected on the Capitol. The most of the ceremonies were conducted in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building for fear of a down pour as it was very threatening. The sun later shone out and the Corner Stone was laid by Governor Dern and the dedicatory prayer was offered by Pres. Grant. I attended to my duties at the Temple between times. Wrote to my son Oliver who is in Germany. Sent copy of prayer of dedicatory services of Mormon Battalion Monument and a copy of my radio speech of Feb 15th.

I went to the Temple as usual in the morning. Attended to the living sealings and to other matters of importance.
Admitted to the Temple Sister Goldames with the understanding that she conform to the rules and practices of the Temple and show due respect for all Temple Workers. She must not harbor hard feelings towards others. May the Lord help her to comply therewith.
I set apart Bro. and Sis. Hope, Temple workers. Attended Circle meeting in the evening.

Beautiful day.
This is the 19th anniversary of my setting apart & ordaining an apostle and member of the Chosen Twelve. I addressed the Temple meeting this morning.
Attended the meeting of the Presidency & Twelve from 10:00 A.M. to 2:50 P.M. in the Temple. Attended a [page break] missionary meeting and set apart three missionaries.
Attended a reception tendered the Presidency & the Twelve & Patriarch by their wives at the Beehive house at 5:30 P.M. Received appointment to attend Summit Stake Conference Apr. 18, 19, where a new Stake Presidency is to be installed. I installed the present Presidency after the death of Moses Taylor, the former President. My appointment for Apr 11, 12 has been changed from Benson to Tooele. There is some important business to be attended to in Tooele Stake.

I spent the day at the Temple as usual and the evening at home.
11 April 1925 • Saturday
George, with his car, took me to Tooele where we attended the Stake Conference. Mother, Sisters Dunn & Tate went out with us. The two last named remained then attended and spoke at the 10 A.M. & 2 P.M. meetings. My Son George spoke 25 min of the afternoon meeting. Spent 1½ hours in Consultation with the Stake Presidency. We had good meetings and returned arriving home at about 7:30 P.M.
12 April 1925 • Sunday
My son George, his wife, Mother & I left Salt Lake for Tooele at 7:30 A.M. and arrived in Tooele at 8:50 A.M. Attended a meeting of the Stake Presidency, the High [page break] Council and the Bishops at 9:00 A.M. I addressed this meeting and important business was transacted. Attended the 10:00 A.M. meeting and was one of the speakers, occupying 30 minutes on Easter & the Resurrection. At the 2:00 P.M. meeting I occupied about 30 min. on Honesty and obedience to the Laws of man and of God. I ordained and set apart a number of officers, including a Bp. & Couns. of Lake View ward, the Presidency of the High Priests quorum and a Pres. of the 43rd quo. of Seventy. Called on and administered to Sister Mary Herron and Bro. Geo. A. Remington. Returned to Salt Lake and listened to a radio talk by Pres. Hugh J. Cannon.

I went to the Temple as usual. Wrote up my journal and attended to other desk work &c. Spent the evening at home and with Charles Murrey to whom I with Rega administered.
14 April 1925 • Tuesday
Weather beautiful.
Mother & I went to the Temple as usual where I spent the day until 3:40 when I went to a meeting of the UIV Co. directors and from there home. Spent the evening at home. Geo. L. & Nerva called on us. Charles is improving.
15 April 1925 • Wednesday
Beautiful day.
I went to the Temple as usual and after the Temple meeting, I showed Pres. Edward H. Snow through the Temple. Spent a busy day of about eleven hours in the temple.
Spent the remainder of the evening at home. [page break]
16 April 1925 • Thursday
Charles quite ill.
I went to the Temple as usual.
At 10:00 A.M. went into meeting with the Presidency & the Twelve which continued until 1:00 P.M. Attended to the living sealings as usual. I wrote to Pres. C. A. Orme & Counselors and had Miss Bertha Irvine phone Pres. Allen of Summit. Assisted in setting apart a company of missionaries. After six o’clock I took street car and went out to 1145 So. 9th East St. and saw Pres. Penrose and while there I administered to him. I later took Lucena & Nina to our ward show. The Boy Scouts of the ward of which our boy Ray is a member are providing these pictures and we feel that they should have the support of the people. Mother did not get home from the Temple until after 10:30 P.M.

Charles is some better.
Mother & I went to the Temple as usual before 8:00 A.M. I wrote letters one each to Oliver & Estella and to others. Had a busy day until 6 P.M. when Mother and I went down to 2275 Lake St. to see Bro & Sister Theodore Tobiason. My son LeGrand took us and from there to his home and to an entertainment in Sugar House ward. My son and others assisted mine in administering to Bro. Tobiason where we found very much improved since I last saw him some weeks ago.
18 April 1925 • Saturday
Stormy.
My son LeGrand took me in his Maxwell car to Kamas, Summit Stake [page break] his daughter Mercedese accompanying us, where we attended the Summit Stake Conference. We attended the 10:30 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. Conference meetings and LeGrand & I spoke at both. At 1:00 P.M. we met the Stake Presidency, High Council, Bishops & Counselors, Presidency of the H. Priests quorum & Patriarch about 45 min and presented to them the matter of making a change in the Presidency of the Stake and took a written expression of each and after correlating their expression, we called the brethren together at 4:00 P.M. and named Wm Orial Stephens, Bp. of Henefer, for President which met with hearty approval He selected for his counselors Bp. Wm. J. Lewis of Park City and Bp. Willard Heber Wilde as counselors which action was approved. We returned to Salt Lake City.
19 April 1925 • Sunday
Stormy day.
LeGrand & I returned to Kamas taking with us, Mother, Ray, Norraine, & Marion. We left home at 7:45 A.M. and arrived in Kamas at 9:50 A.M.
We attended the 10:00 A.M. meeting & both LeGrand & I spoke. At the afternoon meeting I spoke again. The authorities were unanimously sustained. Other speakers included the Old & the New Presidency. I went with others of the brethren to the home of Wm Williams who has heart trouble & dropsy and we administered to him. We drove to Woodland ward 7 mi further South and attended a dedicatorial service of their new meeting house which cost $8,800.00 the Church paying $4,300. of the amount. 193 souls in the ward. I offered the dedicatory prayer and made a few remarks. [page break] We left Woodland at 6:10 P.M. in a snow storm and muddy roads. We arrived home at 9:50 P.M., thankful that we got through so well, without accident except for a puncture on Saturday.
We had a good conference and My Son LeGrand made splendid talks.
20 April 1925 • Monday
I took 8:00 A.M. car for my work at the Temple as usual. Wrote up my journal for the past two days. I my speaking at Kamas I treated the subjects:
Unity & oneness, Love of God & fellowmen, the first & second Commandments. Avoid bearing false witness & kindred events. Word of Wisdo Tithin Thy will be done, causes of disappointments & sinners to be averted. &c. Spent the day at the Temple and the evening at home.
21 April 1925 • Tuesday
Stormy.
I took 7:30 A.M. car for my work at the Temple where I spent the day in active work. Spent the evening after 6:30 at home.
22 April 1925 • Wednesday
Unsettled weather.
Alice & I went to the Temple as usual in the morning. I presided at the morning meeting as usual and sealed 17 living couples besides attending to desk work, some veil work &c.
This day I attended to important business with LeGrand by which I turned to him certain notes and contracts I had bought of him 14 months ago. I gave my check for $265.10 dated May 1st and he gave me his note for $2400.00 dated May 1, 1925 @ 10% interest, quarterly. [page break] In the middle of the afternoon to-day Salt Air buildings caught fire and burned.
My son Joel quit the company as manager the last of last month. I am glad he is not manager and that he is away from home. He and his partner Bro Adamson, his partner in business are traveling on the Coast on business. It rained most of the day. I sent to Oliver in Germany an account of the fire clipped from the News Extra.
23 April 1925 • Thursday
Stormy.
This morning’s Tribune says that the Saltair pavilion is destroyed by yesterday’s fire. The estimated damage is $250,000. Insurance $150,000. Church loses about $100,000. I attended regular weekly meeting of the Council of the Presidency & The Twelve and attended to my duties at the Temple as usual. Obtained permission from Richard R. Lyman to have Sister [blank] Fletcher sealed to her father and we will take steps to have it done. I wrote to Oliver and sent papers to him.
Alice & I went to the Wilks Theater and saw “Lightening.

I took 6:20 A.M. car for my work at the Temple, and left for home after 9:00 P.M. A busy day.
25 April 1925 • Saturday
I went to the Temple in the morning where I engaged in work at my desk &c. This is a beautiful day and our folks are usually well. [page break]
I worked on the committee assignment to Temple ordinances. I also formulated a letter to be sent out to the Presidencies of Stakes within the Salt Lake Temple District by permission of the First Presidency, urging support of the Temple by patronage of the people, &c.
26 April 1925 • Sunday
Beautiful weather & all well.
Not having an appointment for to-day, I attended the Pioneer Stake Conference in the forenoon in the Stake House and at 2:00 P.M. in the Tabernacle. Pres. Rudger Clark and Chas H. Hart were regular appointees to the Conference, but on the request of Pres. Clawson I spoke at the morning meeting. I attended, with other members of my family, in the evening the services in Sugar House Ward, where two young men about to leave for a mission and my son-in-law Orin Woodbury were the speakers. We called at Mamie’s & were served sandwiches & cocoa and later went to my son LeGrand’s where we heard a Wm Lund discourse as broadcasted by K.S.L. A busy day.
27 April 1925 • Monday
Another beautiful day. All usually well.
I went to the Temple as usual. Mother & I went out to Hyland Park, riding with Stephen L. & wife and took luncheon with Aunt Lou. I worked on the Temple ordinances reviewing the work of the Committee. This is my Brother [page break] Fred’s 59th birth day anniversary & on invitation of his daughter Carrie R.Christensen, Mother & I, LeGrand, Rega & Lucena & Charles & Edna went down in the evening to his home and spent an hour visiting.

Fine weather.
I took 7:20 A.M. car for my work at the Temple where I spent the day until about 5:00 P.M. when I went down to my daughter Nerva’s to supper, Mother, Nina & Orin were there also.
29 April 1925 • Wednesday
Fine weather.
All usually well.
I went to the Temple as usual in the early morning. Presided as usual at the morning meeting. Sealed sixteen or eighteen living couples and attended to other important matters claiming my attention. I spent the evening at home.

All well.
Beautiful weather.
I spent the day at the Temple as usual Attended regular weekly Council meeting from 10 A.M. to about 3:00 P.M. In the evening I took to the ward show, Alice, Geo. L & Nerva, Thelma and Martha Scadding who were staying with Nerva.
