I attended 27th ward 9:00 A.M. Priesthood meeting and addressed the High Priests. J. Vales addressed the 27th ward S. School and attended the Sacrament meeting of 27th ward. My son George & I and Mother went down to Minervas 1952 So. Main, and while there we administered to Nerva. I heard the L.D.S. radio services at 9:00 P.M. Jos. Fielding Smith the speaker. Geo. & Edith & LeGrand & Ina were with us through the service.

My son Joel & family left for Los Angeles this morning by train. Joel has interest in a fun house just constructed on the beach.

2 February 1925 • Monday

Home.

Nerva is better

Others are well.

Thawing weather.

I went to the temple as usual and attended to business as usual. Left the Temple after 6 P.M. Attended a reception tendered by D K Udall & wife at Hotel Utah in the evening. 50th Anniversary of their wedding. [page break]

3 February 1925 • Tuesday

Home.

Mother & I took 7:45 am car and went to the Temple as usual.

After a busy day we left for home at 7:45 P.M.

4 February 1925 • Wednesday

I presided as usual at the 8:30 Temple meeting at which Elder D. O. McKay was speaker.

Met with Temple committee from 9:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

Sealed 13 couples living.

Attended my prayer circle meeting in the evening.

5 February 1925 • Thursday

I went to the Temple as usual. Attended weekly Council meeting from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Attended to sealings of the living, to correspondence, &c. We had two sessions in the evening. Mother and I left the Temple for home after 8:30 P.M., 12½ hours in the temple.

6 February 1925 • Friday

This is my son LeGrand’s birth day anniversary the 39th. Stormy day. Mother still has a bad cold. My daughter Nerva is still in bed having been confined to her bed about four weeks with neuritis. Geo. L Tate & Nerva have sold their store & goods and have taken in part pay an equity of about $1500. in a home between 6th & 7th South on 8th East St.

This day I took out an acci[page break]dent policy of $5000. for one year from this date. 11:30 P.M. Cost $10.00

I attended to my duties at the Temple as usual.

This day I received notice that I would be expected to speak over the radio Sunday evening, 9 o’clock Feb. 15th. It will be my initial radio speech.

This day, I sealed 112 children to parents, Gills & Longstroths, our people beside other sealings for living & dead. I wrote to Oliver.

This day we decided to have two evening sessions daily i.e. four days each week. Announcement was made to that effect in this evening session. I took 11:30 P.M. train for Minidoka, Idaho, thence to Burley by auto.

7 February 1925 • Saturday

Arrived at Minidoka at 7:00 A.M. I was met by Pres. Langlois and Counselor Hill of the Burley Stake Presidency with the latter’s closed car and was driven to Burley, where the Conference was to be held. The 10:00 A.M. meeting was for special officers as per printed Program for Priesthood Convention. Attendance good. I addressed the meeting, occupying 23 minutes. At the 2:00 P.M. Stake Priesthood meeting, 416 were present. I addressed the meeting for 35 min, 60 to 8:00 P.M., we were in meeting with the Stake Presidency, from 8:00 to 9:30 in meeting with the H Council. I spoke at each of these meetings.

8 February 1925 • Sunday

I was the speaker at [page break] the 10:00 A.M. Conference meeting occupying 50 minutes. Subj. Recommends to temple, W of W., Tithing, Profanity. They will be done &c. Related story of an English girl & my first experience in administering to the sick when alone. Attendance 798. At the afternoon meeting the attendance was 1052 or 30.6% of the Stake Population. I occupied 60 min with liberty on Genealogy & Temple work.

Attended a H. Council meeting at 9:30 A.M. After the 2:00 P.M. meeting I, assisted by other brethren, set apart a number of brethren to offices. I have had a busy and strenuous day. Stormy day. I took 7:00 P.M. train for home. The Lord blessed me richly.

9 February 1925 • Monday

Arrived in Salt Lake at 7:20 A.M. Went home to breakfast. Called on my son George who had his tonsils removed last Saturday at the LDS hospital. He is getting along nicely at his home. I called on Rega & Lucena. Rega is at home today indisposed.

Snowed hard during the day. Spent most of the day at the Temple. Spent the evening at home.

10 February 1925 • Tuesday

Am well

George and Nerva improving.

Cold weather.

I went to the temple as usual where I was busily engaged as usual. I presided at a missionary meeting and at a Stockholder’s meeting & a Directors meeting of Utah Implement and Vehicle Co & was re-elected President [page break] I visited my daughter Nerva at 1952 So Main St. and administered to her. Called on my Son George who has had his tonsils removed recently.

11 February 1925 • Wednesday

Home.

All about as usual in health.

Mother & I went to the temple before 8:30 A.M. & left the temple for home between 7:30 and 8:00 o’clock. During the afternoon I called on Pres. Ivins in absence of Pres. Grant and presented to him, three matters: 1st, S. E. J. Cannon’s right to allowance; Sister Waddoups & children ready to return to Hawaii; and Extreme views in preaching on part of some of the brethren. My views seem to meet with the favor of Pres. Ivins.

12 February 1925 • Thursday

Nerva & George F. Jr. better.

Weather moderated.

Mother & I went to the Temple in the morning as usual. I attended the regular weekly meeting of the Council of the Presidency & the Twelve from 10 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. In the afternoon, Mother & I went down to Sarah’s. I had been appointed to see him about certain matters which came before the Council to day. It being Lincoln’s birth day, Hugh was at home. Geo. L. & Family took dinner with Sarah. They were moving from 1952 So Main to 634 South 8th East to-day.

I remained at the Temple and did some sealing after the first evening session came through.

13 February 1925 • Friday

Mother & I went to the Temple as usual in the early morning. I had a [page break] busy day. Spent considerable time in considering people to be Temple workers and in consulting about them, their Bishops & Stake Presidents, my assistant the Presidency &c. I set apart Eli B. Rodgers and wife Lauretta Woodbury Rodgers assisted by Bro. Israel Call. I spent about twelve hours in the Temple.

14 February 1925 • Saturday

I called on my daughter Nerva at her new home 634 So., 8th East. George T Jr. took me in his car.

I spent some hours at my desk in the Temple. I wrote five letters, called on Pres. Ivins at his office. Worked some on radio discourse for tomorrow evening. Attended Cottonwood stake Priesthood Convention-Conference, a meeting at 6:30 P.M. for special officers and a meeting at 8:00 P.M. for the Priesthood of the stake. These meetings were held in the Granite Stake Tabernacle and I spoke at each meeting.

15 February 1925 • Sunday

I attended morning and afternoon meetings of the Cottonwood Stake Conference held in the Granite Stake Tabernacle and spoke at both meetings.

I talked over the radio in the evening broadcasted from the roof of the Des. News building, by K.F.P.T.

16 February 1925 • Monday

I went to the Temple where I spent the forenoon. After noon I went to the U. I. V. Co. office with Charles and introduced him as he is going to audit the Company’s accounts. I [page break] Called at the Efficiency Radio Shop and bought two B. Batteries for my radio set. I went down to my daughter Mamies in Sugar House and with others of my family took supper and spent the evening.

17 February 1925 • Tuesday

I spent about twelve hours in the Temple. A busy day.

18 February 1925 • Wednesday

I spent the day in the Temple as usual. I set apart several Temple workers, and sealed about 15 couples of living people. Attended to some correspondence, and was interviewed by several or a number of people. President Frank Y. Tayler came to my room in the Temple Monday and told me that he with others in the group listened to my radio talk Sunday night & he came to tell me how much he enjoyed it. I met Pres. Michelson, Liberty Stake & he complimented me, he having heard my talk with another group. Elder Joseph S. Peery met me today and said he heard my radio talk & said it was the best yet. Sister Sharp said she & others of a group heard my talk and said that it was the best. A number of others have mentioned it as having been enjoyed. These compliments are encouraging to me to know that I was successful in getting near enough to the Lord to get his help as I know I had it both in preparing the talk and in delivery. Attended Circle meeting.

19 February 1925 • Thursday

I spent the day at the Temple as usual, from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. in Council meeting. [page break] In the evening I went with Orin & others in his car and called on my daughter Nerva. Had a busy day at the temple.

20 February 1925 • Friday

I went to the Temple as usual. Administered to Sister Austin, set apart Bro. Willard Call as a worker also Sister Louisa Watts Sloan. I had a busy day in the temple and went from there to the train which took me to Rigby, Ida. Before taking train, I wrote a letter to my daughter Ruby.

21 February 1925 • Saturday

Arrived at Rigby 10:15 A.M. Attended regular Priesthood Convention at 10: & 2 o’clock and special meetings between and afterward. Spoke at all meetings. Later in the evening I accompanied Pres. Hart to the School building where we witnessed a ball game between Rigby boys & S.L. West High team the former won 27 to 12.

22 February 1925 • Sunday

We began meeting attending at 9:00 A.M. and were almost constantly at it until after 5:00 P.M. Council meetings & Conference meetings. I spoke at all meetings. At the forenoon meeting I occupied about 45 minutes. Subject. Lesser Priesthood work and the topic, operations of the Spirit and testimonies, &c.

At 2 P.M. I occupied 50 min. Ward Teaching work, Local missionary work, Genealogy & Temple work and how to avoid disappointments &c. Good liberty. Again the Lord sustained me. We released the High Priest’s Presidency, four H. Counselors, two [page break] Alternates, Stake Genealogical Chairman, & teacher trainer & filled offices & set them apart &c. A strenuous time. I pointed out to the Presidency how they could by division of responsibility accomplish so much more, and they adopted my suggestion. A job for each and all working as far as possible. I took 6:37 train for Salt Lake.

23 February 1925 • Monday

This is my birth day, the 64th.

Arrived in Salt Lake at 7:15 A.M. Went home to breakfast and then to the Temple where I spent some time at my desk. Washington’s birth day is being celebrated to-day because yesterday the 22nd Came on Sunday.

Attended 27th Ward Reunion, and spoke briefly. In the evening with other members of the family I went to a show and afterwards visited with the folks at our home where we served sherbet & cake. I received several small tokens of love from members of the family.

24 February 1925 • Tuesday

I went to the Temple as usual before 8 o’clock. Presided at the 8:30 Temple meeting. These meetings are held each morning of endowment days. I spent a busy day, about 12 hours in the Temple.

25 February 1925 • Wednesday

I spent a busy day in the temple. Attended my circle meeting in the evening. Spent [page break] twelve hours in the Temple.

26 February 1925 • Thursday

I was in the Temple before 8:00 A.M. Attended weekly Council meeting from 10 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Attended to the Temple duties spending more than twelve hours in the Temple.

27 February 1925 • Friday

I attended to the temple work as usual and set apart & ordained the full bishoprics of the Tenth and Emigration wards assisted by Prests H. J Cannon & Counselor Fred Michelson. I set apart Ebenezer Richens as a Temple Worker. My son George & I went down to my daughter Nerva’s and administered unto her after hours, 6:00 P.M.

28 February 1925 • Saturday

I went to the Temple in the morning as usual and attended to desk work &c. At 3:30 I left the Temple and went to the dentist’s office & had some dental work done. Spent the evening at home.
