During my stay in Nephi which extended over a period of nearly seven months, from Nov 4, 1886 until May 25, 1887 I assisted atorney Adams in making an invoice of all the propirty belonging to the Estate of Joel Grover deceased;2 kept the books of the Grover Bros. Co.; Looked after the interests of my Sister Aseneth in various ways. In the way of Manual labor,” Hauled ice & put up for Summer use; Hauled hay from West meadows & the Mounds, assisted in putting new roof on vault, made fence; Hauled rock from Manti for Monument & for coping for fence, hauled rock, for wall around vault and foundation for monument, assisted in putting up wall, iron fence and monument; fatted and killed Fourty odd pigs, salted pork down and afterward hung up to dry &c.; turned over the cattle to Schofield. Wrote up the contrack between Parley & Jed Grover & Grover Bros on lease of horses, ranches & meadows. [p. 105] Before leaving Nephi in the Spring I plowed twelve acres of land and put it in to barley.
