Plymouth Alice’s father arrived here to commence work on my house.

9 May–14 May 1886

Mother Aunts Ann & Alice & I went to Logan to do work in the Temple. Labored one week when on hearing of the death of Joel Grover while in the Temple Friday May 14 Mother Started for Nephi accompanied by my father to S. L. City and we all went to our homes.

Dobie making & Laying foundation for my house commenced May 10th.

14 May 1886–10 August 1886

From May 10 14th 1886 until the house was completed about the 10th of Aug. 1886 I was busy hauling material from Logan for the house and helping to make adobies tending mason &c.

My grain was ripe July. 10th

July 17 Hesse’s commenced heading my grain Stayners headed 30 acres @ 1½ bu 45 bu

Hesses finished heading my grain Aug 4th

Aug 4th Threshers commenced threshing my grain and finished Aug 6th 1160 bu. grain paid Hesses for cutting 240 bus.

Aug. 9th Left Plymouth for Farmington with family. Arrived there Aug 10th Nerva’s birth-day. Sisters Nerva & Aseneth were there All went to Aunt Annie Wilcox and had melons & peaches & from there to Lake Park. [p. 103]
