Providence Young Ladies; Providence, Utah Territory

[. . .] Sister Townsand [Elizabeth D. Townsend] arose said she was pleased to meet with the sisters this afternoon would would be pleased to talk to us a short time if she could say anything to edify us was very much interested in these associations. said most of the girls time was taken up in their day Schools but advised us to pay more attention to these meetings for there are things of great importance to be learned in them that can not be learned elsewhere. spoke on the subject of health and thought it of great importance. Advised us to take care of our selves and also be obedient to our parents & those who are placed over us. advised us to meet together often and bear our testimonies. Sister Snow next spoke said in listening to Sister Townsend we had heard a great many truths. Said she had a great interest in the girls. Said that God had placed us here on the earth so that we might be partakers of all his gifts & blessings, but unless we lived for them it would do us no good. said we should cultivate a character of energy to help us through our troubles. asked the blessings of God to rest upon us and help us to be firm & faithful to the end. [. . .] [p. 7]
