Sister Eliza R. Snow Smith said if we are doing right for the present day we are working for an Eternal Salvation. It is a great privilage we have of living in this age of the wourld [world] when we can hear the word of God and be instructed in the things pertaining to his kingdom, but if we do not live up[ ]to what we hear it would be better that we had never been bornd [born]. She spoke of the increace of the Societys in 1876 they disbursed bettwen [between] $92 and 93 000. She exhorted the sisters to be faithfull in attending their meetings, for if we do not go to meetings we will soon loose the spirit of the Gosple be humble and prayerfull and put away from us the cares of this wourld and seek after the things of the kingdom, that we may be worthy of our little ones that have passed away from this wourld. She then spoke of the establishment of a hospitil [hospital] in Salt Lake City and showed the need of such an instution [institution] and the benefits of which the saints can avail themselves in cases of necessity, any one can become [p. 174] a member of the Hospital association by paying one doller a year. She gave many good instructions to the sisters to encourage them to go on in this great work.
