Prest Snow moved that the Society donate $15.00 toward getting Coal for the Schoolhouse and $10.00 for the Assembly Hall.—

Prest Snow then said: I appresiate the labors of the teachers. It is an honorable position. I feel to say in my heart: God bless the teachers. It is very important that they go filled with the Spirit of God, and now being Winter it is necessary that they should know, the circumstances [o]f the poor Saints. There are [p. 44] one class of people, who will take care of them selves, and there is another class, who will suffer rather than ask for anything. It is the first duty of the Relief Societies, to look after the poor. God has called especially on us, to prepare for a day of famine. I should like to have a storage of our own, where we could store away our grain The oftener we meet together the better we shall feel, when I lived in Jos. [Joseph] Smiths family, He used to pray 3 times a day, and his prayers to his heavenly father were so childlike, just as though a child would talk to his parents
