[. . .] Singing, “O my Father.”

Prest. M. I. Horn [Mary Isabella Hales Horne] then addressed the meeting. Said we had Sister E Snow with us this afternoon, for the purpose of nominating another Councillor to fill the vacancey which Sister [Phebe C.] Woodruff’s death had caused, so would give way for that purpose.
Sister Snow felt that this was a feast to her seeing it had been so long since she had visited us. Thought those who had come out in this exceeding hot day to attend this meeting must love the Lord indeed.
She then nominated Sister Minerva [W.] Snow to take the position as one of the Councillors to Sister Horn.

Sister E. R. Snow added a few words. We are living in a very important time, since God has brought to light the everlasting Gospel, & since we have had to leave our homes & country, for this pearl of great price, let us cling to it, come life, or death, do not waver.
Oh my sisters what glorious prospects we have before us, but we will need the Holy Ghost, & to draw nearer unto God, if we desire to obtain them. Spoke of the Temple, said if she had her will, she would not have it finished, untill we are divided, & the hypocritis [hypocrites] taken from our midst, & not have it poluted.
Asked God to preserve us all, from the evil emacinations [machinations] which surround us.
It has been said that if we are not pure enough, the Melckisidic [Melchizedek] Priesthood will be taken from us, & we will have to do with the Aronic [Aaronic]. Prayed that we may keep the faith, & be worthy to enter His kingdom. [. . .] [p. 116]
