Clarkston Relief Society; Clarkston, Utah Territory

[. . .] miniutes of previous meeting were Read by Request of Sister E R Snow Pres Snow then adressed the Congre[g]ation said she felt it was Just as nessecary that the Sisters Should meet together often as for the Brethren <to hold> there meetings often Spoke on education said it was not Book education alone But be in home Education She said it depended on motehers [mothers] in Regard to the training of thire [their] Children wether they were truthfull and honest in every respect She said this Church was not fully Established untill the Relife Soicety was organised which was done by Joseph Smith she also spoke in Regard to dress said she wanted the sisters to dress neat said when she met with the sisters at Morina she felt that they did not meet often enough to gether said when we stayed away from meeting once we might stay away more she had known wives to say to there husbands you have enough to do without goning to meeting she said such a woman was not a helpmeet to her husband but a pull Back to him such a woman makes home unhappy she furthermore wished to know how much the sisters were doning in Regard to home industry she hoped that the sisters would do something in Regard to straw work said if the sisters here [p. 64] and the Sisters at newton would Combine together in the straw work and make theere own hats said it would be a blessings to all of us said she was trying to carry out the counsell of preisedent [Brigham] young and throug[h] her he had given the woeman missions to start up home industry said if the sisters would start a making their own hats that would be one step towards it said if we had no one here <that> Can Could sew the hats we should send one away to lern the trade she did not wish us to dress infe[r]ior she futhermore stated if we had faith enough we Could raise mullberry trees spoke on storing of Grain spoke in regarg [regards] to training of ourselves and not trouble others with our trials spoke on Celestial marriage said she had been happier in that principle than she would have been out of it advised us never to speak against that principle for if we did we would not be happy in so doning in speaking on prual [plural] marriage said an angell stood over Joseph Smith with a drawn sword and said if you Joseph <if you> will not practice that principle you shall be destroyed and your preisthood taken from you she said I feel to bless you all my sisters praying God to bless you all Amen

Bishop John Jardine said he felt to endorse all that sister Snow had said [. . .] [p. 66]
