Sister Eliza R. Snow being present was invited to speak by Prest [Margaret T.] Smoot. She said she was a member of this Society and felt it an honor to be a member; said the instructions of the Bishop [John Sharp] were excellent, he had spoken by the inspiration of the Spirit of God, his sentiment is worth more than gold, for gold cannot buy the Spirit of the Lord. The idea of the Lord taking cognicence [cognizance] of our every act, she firmly [p. 131] believed. Let it become a constitutional truth with us. She once heard Joseph Smith say the time would come that every one’s sacrifice would be laid upon the altar! Those, whose sacrifice would burn, would be accepted of the Lord. That would be a time, that would test all, there could be no deception. When we acknowledge the hand of God in everything realizing that God sees and takes cognisence of all things, it makes our burden easy. By being faithfull and dilligent and carefull to keep our eye Godward we shall be prepared to walk in the order of Enoch.

Said her religion grew better to her every day. As our righteousness increases, so will our happiness. We should be carefull not to let a trifle keep us from these meetings. Be true to each other, and be carefull of each others feelings, which is my prayer—in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
