Miss Snow said the improvement and culture of the children of the Saints was of the utmost importance. for a long time the children of the Saints had not the oppertunities we enjoy now of cultivating our selv[e]s spiritually, at length the Lord introduced this organization, but at first it met with a great deal of ridicule, and it seemed in some cases all most impossable to with-stand the opposition brought against the young ladies as a general thing their Fathers and Mothers gave them no encouragement, but through the labors of a few it has grown and increased untill it has spread through the Territory. The change that has come of over Zion gives me much joy if the young ever get the testimony of Jeusus [Jesus], they have got to seek it, if we realized that we were noble spirits held in reserve to come forth and be mighty in the Kingdom of God. Mothers should be careful to not let her household duties stand in the way of her daughters in attending [p. 111] meetings our young people have got to work for what they obtain, the children of Zion have superior advantages than the children of the world, it is easyer for them to take the road that leads to eternal lives than the downward track. are we laying the foundation of becoming the most noble the most intelligent woman in the world? if so we are doing well. the young sisters do not re[a]lize what good they can do they should become ornaments in the courts of Zion live faithfully before God and cherish his words Miss Snow then related a vision that a certain young man had showing him the value of wheat, and made some remarks upon the grain question and concluded her remarks by asking God to bless the young people of Tooele. [. . .] [p. 112]
