Sister [Rachel R.] Grant arose & expressed her pleasure to meet so many of the Sisters [. . .] Did not wish to take up the time as we wished to hear from Sister Snow—

Sister E R Snow arose and remarked that she had unfortunately burned herself and had applied salt which was an effectual remedy she mentioned it because she wished the Sisters to know, as we are all liable to these accidents and salt is generally handy.—

Said we ought to live our religion better than we do, and more every day, and if we lived as Saints ought to live, how much more we should enjoy ourselves, She felt sure that the Sisters who were helping to roll on this Latter Day Work would yet come off victorious. and enjoy the blessings of the faithful. She had had a foretaste of what it would be; she could scarcely tell whether it was a vision or not, but it was very sweet to her and every time she thought of it, she could get a taste of that same spirit President [Brigham] Young said to her, go and do all you can, and she felt like doing as she was counseled; She wanted to be zealous in a good cause for it was right, would like to hear from all the Sisters that we might have a good time. [. . .] [p. 195]

Sister Snow again arose said she could appreciate the feelings of the Sisters and understood the Spirit they were of. She attended the Scandinavian meetings and enjoyed them very much, although she did not understand their language, as well as they did ours. Said one Sister had spoken of wishing to enjoy a flow of the Spirit all the time, she had the cares and duties of life to attend to, which we all had; we were not So constituted as to be able to feast all the time, we could not have a continual supply without being surfeited. Felt that this meeting was a regular Picnic; an intellectual, and spiritual feast; and so was the Scandinavian Meeting a feast of good things.—She blest the Sisters in the name of Jesus. Brother Joseph Smith had said we did not bless each other half enough, but as far as she had power and authority she blessed one and all in the name of Jesus of Nazereth, that we might all be impregnated with the Spirit of God, and be comforted in our minds and strengthened in our bodies. That we might have every faculty renewed and be permitted to stand in the assemblies of the just. Thought it would not be long before Jackson County [Missouri] would be rebuilt;, for Joseph had said that this generation would not pass away, until that Temple was built in Jackson County where a cloud should rest upon it &c.

She turned and blest Sister Schofield in the name of Israel’s God. told her she had passed through thorny places, and the Lord had remembered it. His blessing should be upon her for what she had suffered, and she should yet rise and shout Glory to God, and all should be well with her, and she should rejoice that she had strength given her to endure. [. . .] [p. 196]
