Sister Eliza R. Snow, remarked she had not attended a more orderly meeting was glad to see so many of the Sisters out, though it was not a general meeting, but was always pleased to see a goodly number, would like to hear a report from each Teacher.—The Teachers then gave an account of their visits [. . .]

Sister Snow said she was obliged to the Sisters for their reports, said she had a double motive in requiring a report. Not only learning the state of the Ward, but it was an exercise for them in describing their visits

She felt that the Sisters, had the largest portion of faith, it was exemplified in the Fast Meeting being so crowded with the Sisters.—Felt it was necessary that we prepare ourselves for our duties.—Thought that the Sisters could accomplish much in awakening the Brethren, and how the children can awaken the Parents, was manifest in Ogden. Spoke of Bro Junius F Wells’s remarks in Fast meeting, speaking of the young people bearing their testimony having attended the meetings in Ogden. She knew it required more stamina to stand up and speak before the Saints, than to the people of the world If the counsel of Presnt [President Brigham] Young was carried out good effects would follow

She certainly felt more interest in the young people’s associations than any other movement, realising the great duties that would soon fall upon their Shoulders.—Hoped at the general meeting, the Sisters would use their influence in persuading all they could to attend, for by meeting, we become united, & learn each other’s Spirit. She considered that the organization of the Sisters was as sacred as any other, and with the organization of the Ward could accomplish great things. The Brethren acknowledge they have the best meetings when a goodly number of the Sisters are present. [p. 216]
