[. . .] Prayer by Sister Eliza R. Snow. [. . .] [p. 25]

Sister Eliza R. Snow favored us with her company, and made some encouraging remarks, recommending the sisters to be united, as a great deal can be done by Union Alluded to several Societies, that she had visited, and of the interest the Bishops took in the prosperity of these organisations. She thought that much good might be done independent of the relief of the poor. The faithfulness of the Sisters will be known by those in authority in the Priesthood and such will be marked. Without union we will not be able to accomplish much. Spoke of the great blessing attending those, who are faithfully engaged in this work, they will be as Saviours upon Mount Zion inasmuch as they lay themselves out for usefulness and set an example of faithfulness and earnestness in the work. Felt herself well paid in attending these Societies, and in forming acquaintance with many of her Sisters, she felt a love for them that was more than earthly. Those who step off this stage of action associated with the Priesthood in organisations, would also enter into organisations in the Spirit World. Brother Joseph Smith had said, that the weakest Saint was superior to Kings & Queens of the earth, and that our progression would continually go on. Those who feel themselves too important to take a part in this humble sphere, will find themselves cut short of their glory. In watching human nature we find the noblest Spirits the most condescending. How necessary it was that we should be obedient, to attain to that, that we have lost through disobedience. [. . .] [p. 26]
