[. . .] Sister Snow Smith greeted the sisters with a pleasant good morning and ask them, as this was the sisters last meeting, to each and every one lift their voice <hearts> in prayer to God, that we might enjoy his Spirit through the remainder of the Conference

Spoke of the importance and greatness of the calling of the Society teachers; encouraged them to obtain the Spirit of the Lord, when visiting the Sisters, that they might comfort the sorrowing, strengthen the weak, and become saviors in Zion. Exhorted us to be forgiving and charitable to each others faults, and help each other to overcome. Spoke of plural marriage, and her feelings when she first heard it; told how she had obtained the victory over her feelings and how she felt now. Referred to the time when the Prophet Joseph [Smith] first received the revelation, and the effect it had on the world. Commend the useful lives of the hundreds of good sisters in this Church, and knew their reward would be great. Exhorted all to dilligence in studying the Scriptures, and in seeking wisdom, light, and knowledge, in relation to the Kingdom of God. Explained the privileges & duties of the sisters in washing, anointing, administering to, and blessing each other. Encouraged the preparations for silk raising.

Sister Bashaba [Bathsheba W.] Smith [. . .] was greatly pleased with the remarks of sister Snow and could bear her testimony to the truth and divinity of poligamy, [p. 51] of its refining and elevating influence, and its reward, if lived right.
