Meeting opened by singing “Hark the song of jubalee”, prayer by Miss E. R. Snow [. . .]

By request of the Pres. [Elizabeth F. Thomas] Miss E. R. Snow followed. Spoke of the pleasure to be received in meeting with her Sisters where the Spirit of God may be felt; He is pleased with those who seek Him, and are willing to listen that they may lay hold of the principles of life and salvation; their minds will be strengthened and they will increase in a knowledge of God and all that pertain to Eternal life. There is much to be done in redeeming Zion, and so few that realize that they have anything to do only mentally; but they seem to be waking up and coming to a knowledge of the great things required at their hands. The time is near when they will be called upon to officiate in the house of God, to stand in Holy places and perform a work for the living and the dead, they are the ones to bare of [bear off] the [p. 5] kingdom, and those who will not step forward will be forgotten

It is the privilege of each one to become what you will to be, so aim high, live for it, no excuse will avail us, when we are called before the bar of God. We can be what we will a woman of God or a woman of the world, praised and lauded of the world. but we can find nothing in the world to compare with the blessings which will attend those who are faithful

Do not be ashamed of your religion but live up to the requirements it makes of you, that we may inherit the earth when it is purified and sanctified: Spoke of encouraging home industry and of the benefits arising therefrom.

She was followed by Sisters Z. [Zina] Y. Williams and Flora Shipp both giving good instruction; Showing the need of more unity and the Spirit of God. After, a few words from Sisters Snow and [Rachel R.] Grant, Showing that the Lord is full of blessings for His children and telling how different it is with the children born in this Church, they will only have to knock and it will be opened to them, but great faith is neccessary for the powers of darkness will oppose every step taken, and seek to overcome every good desire. but the power of God will triumph finally and the faithful reap the reward of their labors.
