At an open meeting of the Relief Society Sisters E. Snow and Z. [Zina D. H.] Young were present on the Stand [. . .]
Sister Snow addressed the audience Said the Relief Society was not only for the benefit of the poor but for the saving of Souls. That the duty of the teachers was a responsible one that they should seek to have the spirit of their calling and be as mothers to the people.
A warning to mothers to be honest with their children and seek to have knowledge so as to bring them up under correct principles and to do what they promised them, and never al[l]ow young girls to go from home to work.
If there is one principle of the gospel of more importance than it is the principle of plural marriage and for the Sisters if they valued their salvation not to say any thing against it also of home manufacture and the storing of wheat.
Sister Young spoke of the necesity of carying out the instructions of Sister Snow [. . .] [p. 16]
