Pre [President] Snow Smith was pleased with the remarks that had been made, said that trying times were coming. that Presidant [Brigham] Young had said that we should have all we could stand that Bro [George Q.] Cannons friends in Washington had not the courage to stand by him. That we had nothing to fear, only to stand faithfull ourselves

Sister Snow said that without the spirit of God we could not be benifited. we came togather for mutual benifit, that these societies were organized by God as helps in the Church, to fead [feed] his people, that we must be governed by his spirit or we should famish for food spiritually. It is the duty of the Sisters to take the poor off the hands of the Brethren as much as possable, to save soals [souls], to meet togather often, and increas[e] our love for each other, to learn to realise our great blessings. She had lived past the allotted time of life but was afraid she had not quite lived up to her covenants. Little children must be taught the principles of the Gosple. Their education should begin before Birth, never to shirk a duty. Those that have the gift of speach to make use of it, that no one gift is given for our own benifit alone, but for the benifit of the whole. those that wished their money to go the furthest to pay their Tithing, urged on Mothers to send their children to the Primary.
