Coun. Miss E. R. Snow said
Again my sisters we have the prevlege of beholding the faces of one another and of hearing the reports of the Junior Associations We can see the improvement they make in each meeting they bring forth expressions that are rich. [n.p.] I attended a meeting in Millcreek yesterday and the young ladies were organized into an association, my heart was made glad to see so many come forward. President [Brigham] Young was inspired by God when he organized these Societies and he did not begin too soon. I would like to hear my sisters express themselves in regard to the United Order which is before us at the present time. It should cause our hearts to beat with joy. How long we have asked God let thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven. I joined this Order when I entered the waters of baptism When I entered this work I laid down all my earthly possessions at the feet of Jesus. I did not wish to go in only by halves. I have read in ancient history how the saints were buffeted and persecuted I expected to
the pass through and attain that degree of glory they will attain. Have we been that distinct people which God wished us to be? No we have if we ask ourselves we have not. But He has not forsaken us He has introduced something to us that will bring us back. I do not see any thing in this United Order that is repulsive. [n.p.] Some wish to know all about it before they join
At Conference, when we were called upon to vote, I knew just enough to vote when I saw the priesthood. I then did my duty and that was all that was required of me. A paper was brought to me to sign I
again did my duty <signed and did my> duty which was all that was required of me.
I know which is the Kingdom of <God> and which is the kingdom of Satan. I would rather fall with God’s kingdom than stand with Satan’s one half hour and exert all my power with it.
