Coun. Miss. E. R. Snow, said
I realize that for a long time, we as a people have been growing worldly minded, that Zion has in many respects become impure. Any one with the Spirit of God could but know that a purification must take place. And if Zion will purify herself she will be abundantly blessed. We are having our eyes opened to know that we have a great deal to perform. For years there could not be a drunkard seen on our side walks, now even those who profess to be saints use intoxicating liquor. We want all the sisters to sign a petition <to> the City not to licence liquor saloons. We can never build up the center Stake of Zion unless we are united, we are one in the faith but not in our interests. We have seen the time when the Lord made a move, no one asked the reason but all entered into it, it is not so now. We want to have our interests amalgamated, when our temporal interests are one, there will be perfect union, I know it will be perfect happiness. This United Order will bring about union of faith and feeling. The Lord is taking it in hand and He knows what to do. I was talking with Pres. [Brigham] Young and he said we were not going to import any more goods but we were going to sell, and the money saved will be the means of purchasing the [n.p.] state of Missouri for it had to be bought by money or gained by blood and we do not want to get it any other way than by buying it. We want to live so that when the Lord reveals anything we can accept as from Him. We have accomplished a great deal by our Releif Societies that otherwise would not have been done. Wished some officer out of every Ward to stop a few minutes after meeting.

[. . .] This Order of Enoch was talked of when I was a girl, it makes my heart glad that we have an poourtunity [opportunity] of becoming united. The world will covet the privilege of coming into this Order. [. . .] [n.p.]
