Prayer by E. R. Snow. Singing “O My Father.”

Br [William L.] Allen arose, and made a few remarks. Thought we had done well for the first quarter of the Society, taking in consideration the hard times, and the difficulties under which the society has had to labor. Suggested that one Teacher of each District, keep an account of all the business transactions of her District. Said, by dividing the labor, it would lighten the burden of the Treasureress.

Eliza R. Snow arose, and said she felt quite pleased with the remarks of br Allen, and would recommend that the sisters keep their accounts, in black and white—those who did not know how, now was just the time to learn. She thought it was marvilous, the amount of work which had been accomplished by the Society considering we had nothing to commence with. Said, she would like to see the young sisters join more, but they will come along in time—said we must press forward in our labors, for surely God has blessed us. [. . .] [p. 32]
