E. R. Smith said– My Sisters, I am at home when I am with you in the 1st Ward. There are a great many here who love the Lord. Although I did not have the opportunity as you have, I was brought up religously. I loved religion. When I heard there was a prophet of God I did not believe it at first. It was too good to be true, but I never rested until the Lord made it known to me that it was true. You have all the principles before you, so you can set it out in your minds what character and what kind of women you want to be. Be punctual in everything you set forth to do. Set your will with the help of God. Dont read for the sake of reading, but read to gain knowledge, and by this you will gain the blessings of God. May God bless each of you is my prayer.

Sister E. R. Smith— I have the privelege of to speak, from your president, with regards to tithing. What was said about tithing was perfectly right. Brigham Young said before he died that if he could live his life over he would let his wives and children each pay their own tithing so that the principle would grow in their minds.
