The General Retrenchment Meeting [. . .] was one of special interest to all who are interested in the advancment and progression of WOMAN. Counselor E. R. Snow presided, and after the general exercises she addressed the audience in her able and earnest manner. She contrasted the position of the sisters now, with what it was ten years ago, and expressed her gratitude at the change which had been effected, and gave much excellent counsel; her words were “as apples of gold set in pictures of silver.” [. . .] [p. 106]
