Sister Elisa [Eliza] Snow would be very happy to hear Sister Sodstrand speak, although she did not understand much of it. She taught us to live our religion, to become a saint in every thing, so that we might feel the influence of the Holy Spirit; talked about the blessing of being able to meet with each other in love, that we should work in unity, not live according to the fashions of the world in our clothing; but to be comely and clean. She said that the same God, who had lead Israel in the old days, had spoken to His servants, who now stood on the Earth. The Lord had taught Israel’s about every little thing, yes, even clothing, and the same had been spoken so often now in these days.

Sister Elisa taught the sisters in several ways

Sister Anna [N.] Snow talked about the joy we enjoyed to receive such great teachings, if only we would comply to them. She said everything that sister Elisa had said was full of wisdom and full of love. [. . .] [p. 34]
