President Wells birthday Anniversary to be observed with family gathering at Jode’s great preparations by grandchildren [p. 300] {p. 244}

29 October 1909 • Friday

Today busy and trying to get extra work done and yet not much accomplished, then in the afternoon is Mrs. P. P. Jennings party and Sister Smith came early and waited here in the office. [p. 302] {p. 245}

30 October 1909 • Saturday

Little Lucile Buchholz’s birthday and I really did not do anything for her nor even go up to see her [p. 303] {p. 246}

31 October 1909 • Sunday

Stayed at home wrote a letter to Dr. R. B. [Romania Bunnell] Penrose also wrote in Relief Society Record then went up to see Belle and had dinner and spent the evening, Dot and her Lucile came with me out and I came home and begun writing again as usual and reading in magazines and meditating. Just 18 years since we organized the Press Club seems a long time it was done in the old house behind the stone wall, where the great hotel1 is being commenced now [p. 304] {p. 247}
