Utah Woman’s Press Club met at Dr. E. R. Shipps and we had as guest by invitation Miss [Amaret Mariah] Beecher, Sister of Henry Ward Beecher and Harriet Beecher Stowe–1 It was a sort of festive occasion on account of our distinguished visitor from New York and several friends of members were invited. Mrs. Henry Siegel [Sarah Lazarus Siegel] and Mrs. Jos. Siegel [Rachel Lieblich Siegel] among the number. These two ladies were beautifully dressed– the evening was a delightful one throughout– Miss Beecher was at her best. We brought her in a carriage for which Mrs. Georgie [Lucy Georgiana Fox] Young and myself paid. Refreshments were dainty and gracefully served. [p. 122] {p. 63}
