1 Born at Mersea, Essex County, Upper Canada; daughter of Hannah Shipley and Samuel Burton. 2 Baptized in Canada, 1837. 3 Immigrated to the United States and settled at Walnut Grove, Knox County, Illinois, 1839; moved to Camp Creek, Hancock County, Illinois, 1842, and to Nauvoo, Hancock County, 1844. 4 Married Nathaniel Vary Jones, 1845; eight children. 5 Migrated to the Salt Lake Valley, 1849. 6 Settled in the Salt Lake City Fifteenth Ward. 7 Widowed, 1863. 8 Served as counselor to Sarah M. Kimball in the Fifteenth Ward Relief Society presidency, 1868–1888. 9 Died at Salt Lake City. 10 (See Document 3.12)
