Samuel Smith Hammond

1853– 1916

Son of Francis and Mary Jane Hammond; born in Lahaina, Maui; left islands with his parents in 1856; settled in San Bernardino, California, then in Ogden and Huntsville, Utah; married and moved to Bluff, Utah; later moved to Mancos, Colorado; left from Mancos to serve mission to Hawai‘i, 1889–92; moved to Idaho in 1902, eventually settling in Moreland, where he died.
