Philip DeLaMare was born on 3 April 1823 to Francois DeLaMare and Janne Esther Ahier in Grouville, Isle of Jersey. He was instrumental in purchasing beet sugar machinery in France in the 1850s that was then brought to Utah Territory. He married Mary Ann Pevis Parkins, Marie Chevalier, and Jennette Meiklejohn. DeLaMare served on the Tooele city council from 1875 to 1877 and from 1881 to 1883. He also became a patriarch in 1902. DeLaMare died on 16 October 1915 in Tooele.[1]
