Moses Thatcher

2 February 1842–21 August 1909

Moses Thatcher was born to Hezekiah Thatcher and Alena Kitchen on 2 February 1842 in Sangamon County, Illinois. He was baptized in California in 1856. Later that year, he moved to Utah Territory. Thatcher became a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy in 1861, was appointed president of the Cache Valley, Utah Territory, stake in 1877, and was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 1879. He was released from the Quorum of the Twelve in 1896 and died in Logan, Utah, on 21 August 1909.[1]
