John C. DeLaMare

8 April 1859–17 October 1936

John Chevalier DeLaMare was born to Philip DeLaMare and Mary Chevalier on 8 April 1859 in Tooele, Utah Territory. He married Agnes McKendrick on 12 February 1880. She passed away in 1908, after which he married Agnes Eliason in December 1912. DeLaMare served a mission in the southern United States from 1884 to 1886. He spent much of his adult life in public affairs, serving as city marshal, sheriff, and territorial probate judge; he also served three terms as the mayor of Tooele and two terms as the postmaster of Oakley, Idaho, where he lived for twenty-five years. He died in Tooele on 17 October 1936.[1]
