Jacob Moroni Secrist was born 15 August 1850 in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory, to Jacob Foutz Secrist and Ann Eliza Logan. He married Polly Estella Smith on 13 September 1869. Polly died in 1882, and Secrist later married Monica A. Potter. After her death in 1902, he married H. Priscilla Bourne on 29 April 1903. He served as the bishop of the Farmington Ward from 1882 until his death on 5 November 1906 in Garland, Utah, where he was visiting his daughter.[1]
