Mary Alice Hoagland Cannon
Born 16 Oct. 1867 in Salt Lake City.[1] Daughter of George Q. Cannon and Elizabeth Hoagland.[2] Lived in Washington DC with her family while her father was Utah Territory’s delegate to U.S. Congress, 1873–1881.[3] Baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by her father, 16 Oct. 1875.[4] Served as second counselor in the Farmers Ward Primary, 1882–1884.[5] Married her cousin Lewis Mousley Cannon, 1 Oct. 1890, in Logan, Cache Co., Utah Territory; seven children.[6] Attended the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Aug. 1893.[7] Founding member of the Salt Lake City chapter of the Society of the Daughters of the Revolution, organized in EBW’s office, 30 Mar. 1898.[8] Died 1 Mar. 1909 in Salt Lake City.[9]
