Born 17 Mar. 1817 at Belgrave Gate, Leicestershire, England.[1] Daughter of John Harrison and Elizabeth Pipes.[2] Married George Goddard, 10 Sept. 1839, in Leicester, Leicestershire; thirteen children.[3] Baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 21 Jan. 1851.[4] Emigrated from Liverpool, Lancashire, England, aboard the Essex, 9 Oct. 1851, arriving in New Orleans early Dec. 1851; traveled on to St. Louis, arriving by 1 Jan. 1852.[5] Migrated to the Salt Lake Valley with the John Tidwell pioneer company, arriving 15 Sept. 1852.[6] Served as secretary of the Salt Lake City Second Ward Relief Society, 1853–1855.[7] Served as secretary of the Salt Lake City Thirteenth Ward Relief Society, 1855–1898; EBW served with her as assistant secretary, 1871–1891.[8] EBW celebrated her birthday, 16 Mar. 1882, which coincided with the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the Relief Society.[9] Attended a dinner celebrating EBW’s seventieth birthday, 28 Feb. 1898; honored as the oldest lady in attendance.[10] Died 12 Apr. 1903 in Salt Lake City.[11]
