David Hyrum Clayton Jr.

13 January 1884–28 November 1936

Born 13 Jan. 1884 in Salt Lake City.[1] Only child of David Hyrum Clayton Sr. and Sarah Brown.[2] Baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Feb. 1892.[3] Served as a missionary in the Great Britain mission, Sept. 1906–Nov. 1908.[4] Married Margaret Cannon, EBW’s granddaughter, 22 June 1910.[5] Associated with EBW at many social and family functions, 1910–1917.[6] Worked as a Salt Lake police officer and detective, 1912–1932.[7] Retired after sustaining injuries from a work-related gang fight, 1932.[8] Died 28 Nov. 1936 in Salt Lake City.[9]
