William Thorn

October 26, 1815–September 24, 1907

1 Born at Chalford, Oxfordshire, England; son of Margaret McGinty and Thomas Thorn. 2 Married Sarah Lowe, 1842; participated in plural marriage. 3 Baptized in England, 1849. 4 Immigrated to the United States aboard the George W. Bourne and traveled to the Salt Lake Valley, 1851. 5 Served as counselor in the Salt Lake City Seventh Ward bishopric, 1861–1870; appointed bishop of the Seventh Ward, 1870. 6 Died at Salt Lake City. 7 (See Document 3.3)
