Sarah Jane Perkins Rogerson

January 17, 1861–May 3, 1936

1 Born at Parowan, Iron County, Utah Territory; daughter of Jane Benson and John Perkins. 2 Married John Edward Rogerson, 1878; five children. 3 Settled at Monticello, San Juan County, Utah Territory, 1888. 4 Worked as the first schoolteacher in Monticello. 5 Served as San Juan County clerk for fifteen years and as secretary to the Monticello town board for eighteen years. 6 Served as the secretary of the San Juan Stake Relief Society, 1888–1892. 7 Served as the president of the Monticello Primary and secretary of the Monticello Relief Society for approximately twenty years. 8 Died at Monticello. 9 (See Document 4.21)
