Martha Monks Ward

1 Born near Bolton, Lancashire, England; daughter of Alice Fletcher and John Monks. 2 Baptized, 1851. 3 Married George P. Ward, 1860; ten children. 4 Immigrated to New York aboard the SS Manchester, 1861. 5 Migrated to the Salt Lake Valley, 1861. 6 Settled at Hyrum, Cache County, Utah Territory, 1862. 7 Served as counselor to Anna Christine Liljenquist in the Hyrum Relief Society presidency. 8 Moved to Salem, Fremont County, Idaho Territory, 1883; served as the first president of the Salem Relief Society. 9 Died at Salem. 10 (See Document 3.22)
