Counselor Miss E. R. Snow Said

I have a very bad cold and feel that I should be on my bed instead of being here but desiring to meet with my sisters I prayed to God for strength to enable me to come and he heard and answered my prayer.

She gave an interesting account of the excursion that was given to the elderly people, saying it was a season never to be forgotten. She said we have a wreath of hair <here>, which has been made of hair from the different Secretaires of the Associations [n.p.] Sister [Mary Isabella Hales] Horne has given me the honor of presentation. In behalf of your counselors and those present and for your indefatigable labors since you have been associated with us we present this <wreath of hair> to wreath <of hair> President Mrs. M. I. Horne.

President Mrs Horne said it is impossible for me to express my feelings. I am greatly surprised and thankful you for this beautiful present. I will always cherish it as memento of your There were several regard for me.

Counselor Miss E R Snow said President [Brigham] Young has planted rye straw for those of the sisters who wish to braid Also Brother [Daniel H.] Wells says the sisters are welcome to whatever wheat straw they require. [. . .] [n.p.]

[. . .] Counselor Miss E R Snow said there in getting up the wreath there had been a little expense incurred and if the sisters would contribute a little to defray the expenses it would be well received.
