William Taylor

1823– 1910

Younger brother of John Taylor; born in Hale, Westmoreland, England; immigrated with his family to Ontario, Canada, in 1830, where most family members were baptized in 1836; moved with his family to Nauvoo, Illinois, where he was baptized in 1841; arrived in Salt Lake Valley in 1847; obtained a lot adjacent to GQC’s property in Fourteenth Ward; served mission to Europe, 1852–1855, laboring in Germany, the Channel Islands, and England; served as part of Echo Canyon defense forces during 1857–1858 Utah War; moved to Big Cottonwood Ward in 1862; served as patriarch at time of his death at Holladay, Utah.
