William Miller

1795 — 1861

Born in Wingham, Kent, England; served in British Army during War of 1812; participated in revolutionary wars in Peru and Chile, achieving the rank of general in the Peruvian army; returned to England in 1839; chosen British consul-general for Hawai‘i in 1843.
